yawn, bore, blah.................come on guys, jw's are getting pretty dusty here, where's the zest on this board ?

tell your relatives, friends, etc: hey, you were part of the u.n., the watchtower bible & tract society owned a majority of stock in a jw company that had military contracts, the organization that you represent was false prophesying that the world was going to end in the 1800s through the 1900s, and when you can prove to me otherwise, than maybe i'll talk to you.

these guys are just going along with the program because they've gone along this far and they don't know what else to do with their lives because all of their acquaintances are part of this organization and their lives are almost up.............................to turn completely against this organization would be declaring defeat of their very lives.

I totally agree with you. We HAVE to do more but it's not that easy.

IF we don't act slowly and rationally they don't listen, meaning relatives and immeadiately the shutter go up.

Non Witnesses are not usually all that interested and don't understand or want to understand the ramifications of being a JW so at the moment, as I see it, the WTBTS has the upper hand in this battle, because of their apostasy teachings and shunning. You can't force JWs to listen.

I suggested the other week paying for large bill boards with obscure messages that might attract the media's and others attention. Then, possible information on the meaning of these would appear on the news shows. Witnesses would be bound to have their attention caught by these FACTS, and perhaps would start thinking about things.

I have NO idea of what these huge bill boards cost to rent out but I think only one or two strategically place would do the trick.

For example, 'How do you get to 1914 CE from 607BCE?

Ans: Through a pyramid!

Wouldn't you at least have your curiosity raised by something as odd as that?

Perhaps a tatoo on one butt cheek would help them identify whether they will accept the polyheme. Then as WTBTS rules on blood change they can tatto on the other but cheek, if it changes again well, back to the original ... until furthur notice.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone but having lost 2.5 litres of blood on one occassion and survived by the skin of my teeth I feel I have the right to be a bit pissed about the WTBTS constant 'new light' on blood fractions.

upon arriving i ran into lots of old friends and really enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting.

they dont know that im currently struggling with doubts about the organization and they think that im the same old zealous brother.

i couldnt help but feel a sence of guilt visiting with them about our current number of publishers and how many we had pioneering ect.

Unique Stupidity

as far as i'm aware, no other apocalytic group, in which i include seventh day adventists,born again christians, mormons etc cause as much controversys as the jw's.

i hadn't even realised that born again christians were apocalyptic until i was told by one that 'the end was coming' this week and the tsunami was an act of god to warn us.. so is it just shunning and harrassing people from door to door that makes the jws different?

or could it be their unique form of stupidity?

Hi Gary,

Their legal department certainly acts like a bunch of underpaid thugs and houdlums.

So if they do not like their slaves, (whoops sorry staff) to refer to them as the Society what do they call themselves now. Have they given in to 'religion' or are they above any kind of title. I've certainly seen the phrase 'religious beliefs' oh and also 'religious freedom' quoted in the mags but are they comfortable with being called a religion now?

Also, do they have to pay tax on their investments such as Rand Energy or are they exempt because of religious status?

There must be a really good legal firm out there who could make mincemeat out of the WTBTS and show it for what it really is, a money grabbing cult.

Did You Ever Enjoy Going To Assemblies and Conventions??

every january, they read the letter as to where you'll be "assigned" for the convention and then the our kingdom ministry will detail all the do's and don'ts to remember.

NO! I hated every single nauseating event. My parents would argue all the way there and back. I would have to sit inbetween them passing messages: 'Tell your father.....' , and 'You tell your mother....' They would embarrass me and everyone else who spoke to them by sniping rabid comments at eachother. I was not allowed to wander off in the breaks just as a buffering zone in a war can't wander off.

Then the afternoon sessions came and always, I mean ALWAYS one of them would drop off to sleep and start snoring....loudly!

Then it would be 'Quick! Nudge you father!' or, 'Quick! Nudge your mother.'

I was mortified to be told by my Aunt what happened when she went to the assembly with them and they BOTH fell asleep and started snoring...LOUDLY... during the afternoon session and all the people around them were laughing at them. God! The guilt of not being there to wake the silly mooses up!

so many answers amounted to this----as the answer-----"you just know better, that's all".

"mature ones" just "knew" without asking whether something was right or wrong, doable or not.

We didn't fit in and I know I didn't fit in as a child.

They all knew the answers to stupid bible questions, like who was the fourth cousin, twice removed to Enoch and I never wanted to know. They'd play these 'spirtually uplifting games' to encourage us 'odd bods' and their opinion of us just became strikingly obvious. Plus we could never manage to down as much alcohol as they could. (I kid you not!)

Yeah! We just did not belong there only it took us longer to realise it than it took THEM.

It takes a certain amount of sheer stupidity to be and remain a JW and be in the IN crowd.

Thanks for the correction, Rutherford not Russell.

I had no idea that they had claimed not to be a religion until the 1950's. So what exactly were they describing themselves as, or was this just a publishing company as it probably still is.

The pressure on the internet sites, I find worrying. I believe that the internet is the only real way to crack the WTBTS nut. They always seem to manage to get their own way because of covering up their tripe in the law courts. But they have to be stopped. If something as vile as child pornography can't be stopped on the net, then something as important as the truth getting to ordinary people must not be stopped.

No wonder the WTBTS fears the net so much. No one must be allowed to be silenced on this matter of WTBTS lies.

Too many lives have been messed up and ended on their alter to a radical fanatical organization.

Hi Gary and everyone,

'Radical, fanatical, political organization,' that is just so the right phrase to describe the JWs and WTBTS.

So, in essence then, the JWs are continuing in the original radical pattern that was set by Russell in the beginning. Certainly they're a 'separatist' organization but crafty in using the laws of the world to fight the world governments.

Are they really just a bunch of trouble makers then. Guerillas armed with Bibles rather than guns?
