Could a Coup Reform the Watchtower?
by metatron init's interesting to speculate about the fact that legal authority may have been removed from the governing body.
with the intent of protecting them from appearing in court.
when they announced that the organization was to be led.

The house of cards will fall sooner or later.
It will only take a good gust of wind to blow it down.
The internet is beginning to blow a gently breeze and will steadily build up to a gale.

EX JW who are now Born Again Christians?

No offence! But they're all as daft as brushes. I am able to back up this opinion because of my experience of being a JW for 40 odd years and friends who are BA Christians.
Today though really took my breath away.
i am friends with a family of BA Christians. They were missionaries of that faith for twenty years and now he's a minister where I live. He is very unwell with a bad back but won't go to the Drs because he's leaving the problem 'in the Lord's hands!'
He says that he has to practice what he preaches. He has been to many meetings where the blind have seen again, the lame walked and the dead come back to life.
I said : 'They do that everyday in hospitals. And you don't have to pray or pay either.' (we're in the UK)
He said nothing.
I've heard similar crap from JWs over the years about leaving their illnesses in Jehovah's hands.
As far as I'm concerned stay away from ALL organized religions. They corrupt your thinking abilities.

if you were raised a jdub, what was the first thing that was asked...
by in a new york bethel minute infrom your parents when you got home from service?
for me it was, "did you place today?
" pretty much sums up what service is about for most witnesses... i always prefered a good conversation, even at a young age... but the pat on the back always came from making placements... especially if it was a book!.

How do you feel about.....
by bagpuss ingoing back to a kingdom hall?.
recently i've had a couple of visits from jws while i was at work.
each time they left a message that the co was going to be visiting this week and that it would be good if i went to the meeting.. i was really surprised at the strong reaction i had to the thought of going to a meeting again.

A proud brother writes. letter to Bill Bowen.
by avengers in"so william bowen, what did you get disfellowshipped for?
i can't believe.
the false information you are giving about jehovah's witnessess.

Gill
My complete and utter apologies to you avengers.
However the subject 'irks' me as the excuses for ignoring child abuse in the JW congregation are inexcusable. I know I'm not the only one to feel that way, so won't go on about it. But I've heard witnesses say that people are lying about the Witnesses and chosing to believe that Bill Bowen is saying one thing when in fact he is just trying to say something else. Just gets me MAD!!!!!!

Hi Blondie! Is the NoBlood Forum a JW site then? I've only had a quick look but don't (apart from the obvious) see what the angle is if it has an angle, that is?
Are they against blood whatever happens and are they religious or medical?
Thanks

Oh dear Avengers! you sound like my Mum.
Bill Bowen has never accused all witnesses of being paedophiles. He has simply said that the Society's requirement that there be two Witnesses to an accusation of child abuse means that the case never goes any furthur and is not reported to the Police, as it should be. If the accussed says and persists in saying he did nothing or he is repentant he gets away with it. Window cleaners, bank tellers, accountants and cleaners etc are not Judges and should not make those kinds of decisions. Unfortunately, they've been told that they are 'the stars of the congregation'. They think too much of themselves and the consequences if, that those guilty of heinous crimes escape without justice for the victim. He did not say all JWs are paedophiles. Just that the Society's policy allows the criminal to escape.
People also have a tendency not to want to believe that such a terrible thing could happen amongst their friends and they don't want to rock the boat, and even give the JWs a bad name. By covering up they have swept the dirt under the carpet. Bill Bowen has picked the rug up and now we are looking at the mess underneath.
Do not be shocked at what you find. People are capable of anything!
