Hiding the xmas tree!

has anyone else had to hide their xmas tree because their jw relatives can't pick up a phone?

i literally had to have my hubby distract them so i could shove the damn thing in a closet!!

everyone at some point in their lives has a movie moment, unfortunately for me, mine had to be a 3 stooges movie!!!!!

Not Having Kids in 'This System....'

one of my former bs conductors and her husband decided when they got married, they wouldn't have any kids 'in this system'.

i know the world could be better, but i see no reason not to have children if that's what your wishes really are....and you're able to for that matter.

she just turned 34 and really wants to have a child.

Hi Brooke!

I wouldn't wish twins on my worst enemy especially the non sleeping variety that we have!

All my kids found it against their religion to sleep through the night!

Like you, i was married at 19 and had my first at 21. So, now they're 19 and 20 and where has the time gone?

It's definitely not against their religion to sleep now, though!!!!!

Give them lots of loves and cuddles. ignore the naughty things they do and praise all the good things. Loving them makes them want to reward you with more good behaviour. My only regrets are for following WTBTS advice on smacking them. A tap on the hand is the most it should be. There are so many other ways to discipline them that works better.

My youngest is 5 now and she NEVER sleeps through the night. We have adapted and we get by. Older kids help us with the little ones all the time.

As I said before Brooke, enjoy your time with them. Man! How the time flys. Where did it all go?

Some real sweet memories though. Sorry your husband has to be away for so long though. It must be tough on you!

by that, i mean, some witnesses will not just now "out" themselves because of various fears and concerns.

some of us are still "in the closet".

so to speak, because we're not ready to expose ourselves to the "loving brothers", just yet---at least not 100 %.

And it's totally understandable. The repurcussions are far too serious, as I know having been shunned three times today. Once with someone actually moving three steps away from me sideways, as if I had something contagious.

It's just sometimes it so tempting to get on the tallest building (not literally!) and shout 'Jehovah's Witnesses are Frauds!'. Well you know what I mean.

Hi Whyamihere!

Hope you're oK. Yes I have children including a set of twins. I have five children in all. I know how TERRIBLE it is not to sleep properly for months and years at a time. i know you are struggling with your children and that's just normal. I promise you, one day you'll sit back like me and laugh at those days you carried on just dead on your feet wondering what the point is any more. I promise you that day will come. It all gets better and easier. I still think they're little swines at time though. The thing is you love them so much that they seem to suck all the life juice out of you!!!!

Hang on in there. The getting better bit, really is a promise. You're at the worse stage with yours.

My advice though, don't have any more than another one, and only if you want to. The work is very hard with one child. Ten times harder with two and by the time you get to three....

Can you imagine how much washing and ironing I have to do? My house is like a chinese laundry!

Hang on in there whyamihere! It will all be allright! I promise! Just do what you can and what you need to and what doesn't get done....there's always tomorrow. Make time for fun with the little tikes. It goes so fast!

In no way would i say kids make life easier or even, sometimes feel like a blessing. Little swines sometimes in my opinion. But they are part of the university of life and teach you more than any Bible or WTBTS publication ever can.

We knew many, many JWs who chose not to have children and pursue the 'Kingdum Interests'. They are in their last hours of their biological clocks ticking and I see people very old before their time and wonder about the regrets they will have in a few years time. Wheras we have years and years of sometimes difficult but often fun and happy memories and I feel for them, for the great sadness and regrets they will be suffering.

One particular sister, who pioneered auxillary, for the last twenty years, seemed to know more about Calpol, a childrens pain killer, than I do and that started me of thinking of her and how she might secretly be feeling.

The WTBTS steals peoples lives but it also steals their futures, their hopes and their lovely memories they could have had!

they used to attend the what was in those day, large assemblys at the de montfort hall in leicester.
