It begins to fit with Longo's story of admitting to two deaths and denying the others.”

I’m not sure that this evidence substantiates anything at all. So two of the kids died by drowning, and one of them by strangulation/suffocation? Assuming Longo’s story is true, then MaryJane would have drowned the two older children and, what, starangled the baby to near death? SHE would have used two different methods to try to kill all of her children. If she could, so could Longo. I’m not sure what the significance of the children “dying in a different manner” has in determining who killed them. I personally think the slimy Longo killed all of them.

I don't believe him for a minute. Dead women tell no tales, and he's exploiting that IMO. The part where he says he choked his little daughter after he realized she was still alive was heartwrenching. Anyone who can be that heartless and cruel to his child just to cover his own ass is capable of doing ANYTHING. How could anyone BUY such an excuse.

What a slimy, sad excuse for a human. The man admits to killing his wife and one of his kids, but then tries to make it twistedly seem somewhat justifiable because he was just responding in passion to his WIFE'S killing of his children. I'm sure if he could hang his wife's death on one of his children, he'd try that angle as well.

Highly upsetting and chilling story.

Honestly, no. I'm usually a pretty philosophical person with few regrets on life choices, but since I was born into the religion and raised by a devout JW mother, I didn't have a choice. I feel like those meetings, assemblies, studies, etc., were just a huge, giant waste of time. I was denied any normal socialization. I knew I really didn't fit in with the JWs, I didn't fit in with the "world," I didn't fit in period.

Now that I have children and that life is far behind me, I just cannot see how my mother (and unbelieving but JW supportive father) could knowingly subject me to such cultic teachings and deprive me of any real normal childhood.

I see JWism as perhaps the biggest drain on time, energy, money, talent, etc., that can be fathomed. These people are not trying to improve ANYTHING--they're just giving a symbolical middle finger to the world, waiting for the vast majority of people to be blown to bits at Armageddon, and have nothing but an imaginary, fairy tale future to hold out as a carrot to keep people "active" in wasting there time.

No, I'm very sad about having had any remote association with such a twisted organization.

Their lie is grammatically comical: they were interested in health, eco and social problems that existed at the UN library facilities? Didn't the librarians get along with one another? Maybe the library toilets were overflowing, causing health issues?

That's such a generic (and meaningless) statement, I think I'd ask the JW to take a step back and explain what he means by that statement. Define "organization." How is that point, i.e., that God's "always had one" prove the validity of the WTS (which is what I'm thinking they must be trying to prove). Obviously, just because someone suggests that "God's always had an org," it doesn't mean that any particular org that claims to be from god is "god's org." Otherwise, JW's are on equal footing with LOTS of other religious orgs.

How would you assess that an org is from God (since God's "always" had an org). Do you compare "past" orgs he's allegedly been working through to the WTS? Did THOSE orgs count and report the time they've spent selling religious pubs door-to-door, the number of pubs they sold, the number of publication studies they conducted, the number of return visits to people who bought the pubs, etc? Did THOSE orgs have designated classes of people, i.e., elder, ministerial servant, district overseer, pioneer, special pioneer, temporary pioneer, etc. Just how SIMILAR is the WTS to "past orgs" God has used...(?)

I'm sure you won't get that far. But, the bottom line is a) that statement is unprovable; and b) even if if WERE provable, the underlying assumption is that the WTS is THEREFORE God's chosen org. That's even MORE unprovable.

Oh, and just a fine point. If you're a Living Mass Murderer who's studying to WT publications with a recognized elder, then that moves you up dozens of slots. (I kid you not, there WAS a living mass murderer who was studying with the elders...maybe an JW legend...but, obviously it's possible. So they probably deserve their own category.) You know, a heck of a lot is forgiven when you pretend to be interested in the WTS..

Thanks! Now I understand what my mom meant when she referenced the organizational "dignitaries."

It also helps to know where I stand; officially at 82, but I've been known to hover around 99 based on comments from my mother...

What a sad story. Two little girls motherless because of asinine JW teachings.

You cannot compare this situation to people who fight for their country. Many have given their lives to fight for the FREEDOM of themselves and others. This woman did *nothing* for anyone else. If it was a god she was trying to please by not having life-saving emergency treatment, he's a cruel god indeed.

No, I wouldn't go to see here...there are waay to many other c/w stars with more...character...that I'd rather go see. I think her body movements and saucy act appeals more to men than women (JMO). Something about her style just bugs me. Her voice is too cutesy.

Well, you asked!! I think she's got a lot of sex appeal for men, but I'm not seeing the real talent (like I see in some others). I think it's cool she lived in Europe for so long, though.

That's pretty much what ancient, primitive humans gathered when they saw the sunset, the wind, the rain, human fertility. Earlier humans, in fact, ascribed a *variety* of gods for a lot of things; the notion of one single creator came fairly late in human history...

Soo...your observation is no different from that of very primitive man...

I guess I'd tend to show horrific pictures of humans cruelly killed by virture of the race, religion, or nationality (in this century mind you), starving children in hopelessly unsanitary conditions, millions of babies orphaned by AIDS....would an almighty creator who was capable of all things let THIS occur and continue?

You can look at it both ways. Nature, science, and society in general can be both beautiful and horribly cruel. You cannot credit a benevolent intelligent creator for his/her incredible creations while at the same time overlooking the horror, tragedies and woeful shortcomings of the human experience.

Are you prepared to do both??
