  i'm just curious about where they stand on this.

  if a couple cannot have a child, is the only acceptable option adoption?.

  No, no euphie, that's NOT what they said. They obviously left it up to the individual conscience. But, of course. "personal questions of propriety," means they should figure out a way to extract semen which

  1) doesn't involve masturbation (self abuse)

  2) doesn't involve involved "oral copulation"

  3) of course, didn't include the illicit viewing of pornography

  That leaves the options wide, wide open.

  despite the parents objections, a duval county, florida (jacksonville area) judge ordered blood transfusions for a baby born prematurely.

  interestingly, even the aclu did not side with the parents.

  Yes, that's a very valid point. The only reason I doubt that's all there is to it is the fact that the parents attempt to take legal action against the hospitals after the fact. Like the recent case of the JW parents who attempted to sue after one of their twins was ordered to receive a blood transfusion. He survived because of that, now he's apparently a healthy 2( or 3?) year old. Their baby survived and now they SUE.

  Maybe it's just to save face with the JW borg; but it takes MONEY to sue. That tells me something. And it's not something good.

  Good. It sounds like judges AND the ACLU is no longer putting up with the JW bullsh*t. Save a baby, or "respect" JW's idiotic interpretation of ancient Jewish injunctions, which no other "Christian" groups on earth interepret as such? Gee...what to do...

  was the "beware the voice of strangers" talk (http://quotes.watchtower.ca/bewarethevoiceofstrangers.htm) given at the district conventions last summer?

  i'm not terribly familiar with how that works.

  Thank you for posting this. It just brought back all the reasons I am SO glad to have broken free from that religion. I cannot believe the nerve they have to label victims and circulating "apostate lies." And their leverage their unforgiveable behavior toward pedophiles and their victims as "persecution."

  i know that the issue of the man being beheaded by the iraqis has been discussed already but they just played the sound of the beheading on talk radio (shawn hannity).

  this is absolutely horrible.....the sound of him screaming just makes me ill.

  What, no outcry about the pornographic, humiliating pictures of the boys at ABU? No, How disgusting! How could the media CIRCULATE such disgusting pictures? It's humiliating for the prisoners and for their families!!! They could have just TOLD us about the abuses going on, rather than spread it all over the media.

  Nope, we just lapped it up, posted it all over the internet and in all major and minor papers. People can't seem to get enough.

  So, if you think the "torture" pictures were appropriate, why is not the murder which was VIDEOTAPED and recorded, not appropriate? What's the difference? why is no one decrying the sick "f**&ks to circulated those pictures.

  Neon, thanks for researching that..I totally forgot about the adultry thing.

  But, I'm really unclear about how the NWT interprets Deut. 5:18. The KJ version simply says: "Neither shalt thou commit adultry," not:

  "You must not give your emission as semen to the wife of your associate to become unclean by it." Artificial insemination of a woman by a donor other than her legal husband, makes her guilty of adultery.

  Seems to me they are really trying to stretch this interpretation--whereever they got it-- to fit this modern day scenario.

  Either way, they're scewed up.

  Yeah, when I was 16 my mom two my sister an me on a Bethel tour--I was so excited to go to New York that I didn't mind then (didn't know any better). Actually I remember the highlights of New York and must have suppressed my "tour" of the farm, the fatory (who hoo!)--I can't remember much about it.

  Every flippin time we took what sounded like it was going to be a great vacation like to Hawaii, New York, etc., my mom had to insist that it be planned around an assembly, or at the very least we had to go to meetings and out in service while there; hob-nob with the elders there. I HATED it. What a waste of time and opportunity.

  Yeah, donated sperm/artificial insemination is a biggie, or at least it used to be--probably flip flopped on that as well. I remember reading one of WT or Awake articles about things Christians must consider in artifical reproduction/conception (you know, one of those, it's a "conscience matter" that's really veiling "don't do it." It cautioned true Christians to carefully consider how the sperm was obtained. They didn't go into detail, but obviously it would be dispeasing to Jehovah if the donor jerked off in a dixie cup.

  Converting to the dubs would be pretty redundant for them--they've got it all right there: control, opression of women, belief that anyone who isn't of their faith will get whacked (well, Islamofascists give God a little help with the task).
