---A good idea. I may add such a letter after consulting with my husband should he die after I do.

A Must Read Update on WBTS and Darkspilver from reddit

many of us know that watch tower (yes, two words in this case) has issued a subpoena to reddit to try to gain darkspilver's identity due to accusations of copyright infringement:.

tl;dr: on april 9, watch tower filed a response to the eff's motion to quash (filed march 26) regarding the subpoena submitted to reddit in an attempt to find /u/darkspilver's identity.. the wt response is publicly available here as a pdf, from the site court listener.. a number of other documents relating to the case are available on the same site, here.. and the eff's motion to quash is available on the eff's website here.. details: as i'm sure many of us know, watch tower (yes, two words in this case) has issued a subpoena to reddit to try to gain /u/darkspilver's identity due to accusations of copyright infringement.

specifically, watch tower is claiming copyright infringement for two things: first, darkspilver posted the back page of the november 2018 watchtower which was an article entitled "what gift can we give to jehovah?” which explained how to donate.

Need help finding a reference

i was trying to find the watchtower where the gb says they are “neither inspired nor infallible”.

i thought it was the feb. 2017 watchtower, but i can’t find it.

peacefulpete, if the official GB position is wrong right now, the GB has told jws they should still support the GB until the GB realizes they are wrong and changes it (haha). (the old "wait on Jehovah" position).

It is wrong to say anything negative about what the GB says. Even if you are accurate, you are wrong to do correct God's representative and not wait on God. That is why jws who df'd for divorcing a known homosexual spouse and remarrying, and then the GB reversed their view on that, the df'ing still applied because they had disobeyed the GB.

In discussing the matter, The Watchtower of December 15, 1972, pages 766-768, showed that porneia “comes from a root word meaning ‘to sell.’” Thus it is tied in with prostitution, such as that practiced in many pagan temples in the first century and in ‘houses of ill fame’ today.
True, porneia is sometimes used in a limited sense, as applying to sex relations between unmarried (single) persons. An instance of such a limited usage is 1 Corinthians 6:9, where “fornicators” are mentioned separately and in addition to those who engage in such other sexual vices as adultery and homosexuality. But just before this, at 1 Corinthians 5:9-11, Paul used the same word when counseling Christians not to mix with “fornicators.” Is it reasonable to think that here he referred only to immoral unmarried persons? That could not be so, for chapter 6 sets out a broad range of illicit sexual practices that must be shunned, including adultery and homosexuality. Likewise, Jude 7 and Revelation 21:8, which show that God judges unrepentant “fornicators” as worthy of eternal destruction, could hardly be limited only to unmarried persons that have sex relations. And the Jerusalem governing body’s edict at Acts 15:29, “to keep abstaining . . . from fornication,” must be understood to have the wide field of application.
So, then, “fornication” in the broad sense, and as used at Matthew 5:32 and 19:9, evidently refers to a broad range of unlawful or illicit sex relations outside marriage. Porneia involves the grossly immoral use of the genital organ(s) of at least one human (whether in a natural or a perverted way); also, there must have been another party to the immorality—a human of either sex, or a beast."

All the parties involved would be interviewed privately by Human Resources (HR) including the "boss" and 4 workers directly involved, as well as any workers who heard and/or saw this happen.

The other workers would be asked what they saw and heard, and their own feelings about such comments or have they experienced things that might be racist and what.

Then HR will determine if more info is needed, such as if previous situations have occurred between this boss and other employees. If HR determines that the source is mainly the boss because HR sees a pattern (may have already tried to resolve before with similar situations involving other employees), they may talk to him/her privately to put him/her on notice and review again with him/her what the work rules and how they specifically apply in this situation).

HR would also review with each individual privately what the work rules are and how they apply and also provide training in general for all people in that work area.

Then HR schedules group training by an outside source for all directly involved and the rest of staff. In some cases, scenarios will be re-enacted by outside source staff and then allow the people attending the training to offer suggestions and/or ask questions on how to resolve without referring to any specific event.

Then everyone will be encouraged to do their part in making this process of handling issues a success and that HR will be checking back with individuals to see how it is going.

Regardless of "fault", the yelling, swearing, and inappropriate comments by all will be addressed by HR.

Unfortunately, in the situation regarding President Trump and the 4 congresswomen, no one to date seems to have a way to use someone or some group to mediate this problem. And some that could, are reluctant to step up for various reasons.

BB, I think this is a so-called suggestion by the WTS, once only suggested to the elders by the COs or WTS directly. In the past, this technique was used by the WTS to pressure elders/BOEs. While individual tithing may not be the case yet, evidently it is possible to unofficially let BOEs know what their "fair" share should be. Now that the WTS has more access to the congregation banks accounts, could the WTS just take the amount out of the account? Perhaps in some future 1984 situation?

I have put my wishes for my funeral or lack thereof in my will. The only person who matters is my husband who I have told what I want. I know he can do whatever he wants, but he agrees with me as well. I just don't want him to waste money on burying a corpse. If I should be alive in some other realm (haha), he doesn't have to worry either.

But---what if you don't die but are in a coma or unable to communicate your healthcare wishes, and your closest loved one has no idea what your end of life wishes are and that puts unneeded stress on them? Then be sure you have a HC-POA in place naming them as your advocate and make sure they know that and give them a copy and discuss it with them.

I want a cremation, no one there but my husband and anyone he wants there as support. Then have a party and spread my ashes in my favorite spot.
