When secular sources confirm what the WTS, they point to that as proof of their scriptural proof of the WTS position. When secular sources don't confirm, then these same sources are lying or have only incomplete info, so the WTS position stands.

Will the U.S. Supreme Court be RIDICULED by JW lawyers?
by The Fall Guy inin view of the statements below by the wtbts hierarchy, how on earth can u.s. supreme court judges possibly be conned into accepting jw lawyers' claim/defence of clergy-penitent privilege in the $35m lawsuit?.
if you don't have a clergy, how can you have clergy-penitent privilege?
has no one in the u.s.a. pointed out to the judiciary that they're being duped?.

WT / JW Doctrine ,Satan cast out of Heaven in 1914 ? He has always had access to the earth ? Since Eve .
by smiddy3 inthis doctrine / belief that jehovah`s witnesses have , surely raises a few questions that they do not address.. 1.this spirit being challenged god by questioning his authority and offering eve an alternative making himself satan.. and this took place on earth ,the garden of eden.
so he who became satan had access to the earth.. 2. all throughout the old testament , the hebrew scriptures do we find examples of satan interfering with gods plan of things either by himself or his followers .. 3.their are just too many examples to list individually ,however a few key ones would be , the nephilim , job when god in heaven asks him where he has been , and his reply , from roving about on the earth .
, etc.etc.. 4.and of course in the new testament , where jesus is taken up into a mountain to be tempted by satan for fourty days ?.

More fear-mongering in Nov. 2019 WT
by neat blue dog infirst of all, there's a new imaginary picture of jws during the great tribulation:.

LV101, do not read the following if WT songs tick you off.
Reminds me of a song of long ago,
"We are J.... W...., we speak out in fearlessness" Evidently not any more.

How did Adam and Eve survive when kicked out of the Garden of Eden?
by I believe in overlapping init’s funny how a simple question like this is something that the dubs never even consider.
my dad asked this question to a couple of witnesses and they wondered for a minute and said; .
“i never thought about it, i’ll have to ask the elders”.

The WTS says jws should not speculate about things the bible does not talk about; but the WTS/GB can do it (obviously they have a direct line to god).
Recently while saying jws should not speculate, the WTS rarely mentions current and past popular speculations by jws.

As we look to the future we have many inviting prospects ahead of us. Therefore, we have no need to speculate about details that are not supplied by the Scriptures, but, rather, to be willing to wait upon Jehovah instead of fretting or becoming disturbed over such matters. Why speculate about who will be resurrected, how children will be cared for, what type of houses will be built, whether we will use machines, and suchlike questions. If we really needed to know these things, Jehovah would have provided the answers.
21 Rather than speculating on the unknown, how much better it is to concentrate on the thrilling things the Bible does say.
https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1975644#h=24:290-24:662
Or we may find someone who is getting weak in faith, perhaps because of speculating about the future. There are some who are always asking questions that have no Scriptural answers, and, when elders or others in the congregation cannot answer their questions, they begin to doubt the fulfillment of prophecies or even to doubt that Jehovah is using his organization today.

Handling God’s Word of truth aright requires that we discern between profitable and unprofitable questions. Naturally we have questions about the past, present and future. In the Bible Jehovah has provided authentic answers to the questions that properly concern us at this time. Sometimes secular history can fill us in on details not given in the Bible. But there are other questions to which neither the Bible nor profane history provides an answer. It is not wise or safe for us to speculate about questions of that nature.
For example, in all good faith one might ask, What was Jehovah doing before he created Jesus, by whom he made all other things? If Adam and Eve had repented, would God have forgiven them? What happened to the bodies of those who perished in the Flood? Did the expensive gifts brought to the babe Jesus make Joseph and Mary rich for the rest of their lives? What did Jesus do between the ages of twelve and thirty besides his carpentering? How would Jehovah have redeemed the race if Jesus had not proved faithful? Exactly how long did Jesus’ trip to heaven take? Much time could be spent conjecturing on such matters.
Likewise it is possible to spend valuable time speculating on matters concerning the future. One might ask, In what year will Armageddon begin? Will the faithful angels eventually receive immortality? Will there be factories and machines in use after Armageddon? Will men wear beards again? What will be the medium of exchange in the new world? Will women now past the age of childbearing share in the procreation mandate? If dedicated parents and children happen to die before Armageddon, which parent will raise the resurrected children, since resurrected mates will not remarry? (Luke 20:35) These are typical questions to which Jehovah has not provided answers at this time. Do you think it wise for Christians to take time from more profitable Bible study to speculate on the answers? Consider the dangers involved.

Excellent piece on Watchtower's appeal to the Supreme court
by Diogenesister inmark o'donnell ( john redwood) has outdone himself in this excellent piece on watchtower's appeal to the supreme court regarding their definition of clergy-penitent rights.. the case they are appealing revolves around gilbert simental, a known abuser who, although eventually removed as an elder, was allowed to remain in a position of respect, with the parents of his victims kept in the dark about the risk he posed to the children with whose care he was entrusted.
.
anyway it's an excellent piece and well worth reading.. https://jwsurvey.org/news/jehovahs-witnesses-lose-california-child-abuse-case-appeal-to-u-s-supreme-court-part-one.

"Gem from the November 2019 WT. Reject apostate material because JWs trust in "their brothers."
by Daniel1555 indear friends.
i didn't post for a while, but i still enjoy the great jwn community.. just wanted to share a "gem" from the november 2019 study watchtower.. paragraph 8 from the article "are you maintaining your large shield of faith?".
satan, “the father of the lie,” uses those under his control to spread lies about jehovah and about our brothers and sisters.

I wonder if older WT publications with old ideas would be considered apostate if a jw were to read them.
Edit: I ask because I read volume 7 of the Studies in the Scriptures and it made me wonder what other nonsense was believed back then.

Did you ever thought this?
by Theonlyoneleft inso.. you are a jw or studying, living your life and doing your bit, feverish of spreading the good news to everyone that will listen!.
you prep yourself for meetings, doing your ministry and applying all that there is into your daily life.. so....i have a question... you know... my clogs.
when you where completely in the religion, did you ever think about the impact of your way of life and religion towards others, specially those that lived around you such as good friends or family members that didn’t studied?

Add this to the list:
1) Many jws personal view: My non-jw relatives and friends will not be destroyed at Armageddon
2) WTS official stance in their publications: Only baptized jws in good standing (and their minor unbaptized children) will survive Armageddon.
