the state supreme court will hear oral arguments tomorrow, 13 september, at the northern hotel in billings during the state bar of montana’s annual meeting (announcement 1, announcement 2).

Reinstatement/dating
by Pinky ina month ago i was reinstated as a jehovah’s witness.
he was not disfellowshipped.
in my meeting i was told that i could not become involved with the man that i committed a sin with, which is adultery once i’m reinstated.

Finkelstein's advice is very good. He should know exactly what he is going to face if you remain a jw and he does not become one. I married a non-jw and pressure was put on me. I was told that if I married a non-jw I could be df'd. But I still married him (but not giving any reason to be in the hotseat again). When you are reinstated, I was told they could not turn around and df you for the same sin, and marrying a non-jw is not a new df'ng offense since it is not a df'ing offense.
"In any case being that your re-instated and divorced, they can not stop you from having a relationship with this guy, that's if he really wants to, maybe he has re-thought the situation ? People do meet other men or woman .
If he wholeheartedly does love you, he would take the steps to pursue things with you in the approved JWS way, if not your probably best to just drop it and move forward less you being hurt. "

i am conscious of the fact that i was at a genetically determined disadvantage academically; i was never going to be outstanding in my achievements, no matter how hard i tried.

RayofFlight, I agree with you and I have said this to others as things to consider when telling a jw friend or family member some seemingly lightbulb moment info.

I remind them that they did not come to see the real truth behind the teachings of the WTS all at once. That should make us see that they probably will not either. To keep the door open, ask thought making questions and leave it there and let them think about it. I try to let them know I wonder how they would answer my sincere question.
My comment was only what I would do or have done on JWN and in my previous jw life. I hope it did not seem that I was saying others should do what I have done and said. I have over 3 or more years posting on JWN, convinced some JWN readers that are still in to finally make the leap; how do I know, they send pms to me letting me know how I helped them and that I should not give up because not all who make the leap, necessarily let me know that I helped.
I tell readers and posters that only they really know this person, their personality, past, and current lives. To take it slowly, not bury them with several points. Just one topic you know might get them to think outside the box. But leave it if they don't respond to it. I usually let such people come to me rather than me to them, staying friendly, caring, and loving. Not to attack the WTS, but rather to concentrate on what the bible says but not make the conclusion for them. In my case, I did not realize how deep the teachings were in every congregation. How people with sincere doubts were not allowed to express them respectfully, were told that eventually God would clear up their confusion. After 25 years, 8 congregations, 3 countries, I realized how pervasive jws were told to basically shut up and wait on God.

The key point is that the secular governments are seeing regarding the inner workings and thinking of the WTS, that it does not function like the Catholic Church. More than one individual priest (elder in the case of the WTS) hears the confession and forgives the person, case closed. The WTS shares that info with 2 other elders, the CO, and various flunkeys along the WTS admin route. Then the WTS keeps written records hidden away.
There is nothing confidential in the WTS. There is always someone who wants to seem more important than some other jw because that other jw knows something privileged and thinks that person won't share the info with someone else, their one best friend (who shares it with their one best friend, not that first person). I had elders tell me they can tell a detailed story of an abuse case to other elders on the BOE not on the JC, or elders outside the congregation, as long as they don't name names. Like no one can put 2 and 2 together.

I remember in my research I stumbled over these things, found by accident that is. What surprised me was not that he said it, but so many members of the WTS did not have a lightbulb moment. If that isn't cult speech, I don't know what is, and it makes him more like the single leader of a cult characteristic that the WTS says a group has to have in order to be a cult, thus the WTS was a cult back then by their definition.
After Fred Franz died, the cult around a single person knowing all or being the conduit finally died. Since the institution of the "elder" arrangement cut Fred's legs under. Now the GB members probably have many battles with each other as to who are the ones at Christ's left and right hand.
