a watcher, are you a faithful jw?
Fixing the "true" date affects whether the dates like 1914, 1918, 1919 are scriptural per the WTS.

i came across this article written in 2004 by an evangelical.. “when did jerusalem fall?”, rodger young, journal of the evangelical society [jets], 47/1 (march 2004), 21-38.. http://www.rcyoung.org/articles/jerusalem.pdf .
these are the conclusions of the 18-page analysis.
(1) jerusalem fell in the fourth month (tammuz) of 587 bc.

it's seems that even the revised edition of the book revelation: it's grand climax a hand was wrong again.. in the 2019 agm david splane "clarified our understanding of the prophecy recorded in joel 2".
clarified?
you mean he done a 180 reversal.. from revelation: it's grand climax a hand page 143, para.
There are 180 degree flipflops already,
some 360
and some that were 360 that 180 again and back again (sodom/gomorrah resurrection)
i'm doing some work on the messaging service, so sending messages may fail - i'll update this topic when work is completed..
I sent a message right now and it sent for the first time in a few days. I hope it doesn't disappear too. Thanks for all your hard work, Simon.
it's done.. during the last month i've been talking with my closest friends about leaving the org and yesterday i finally talked with my parents.. it's been almost 5 months after i said that i would do it, but i think that this extra time has been beneficial.
i've said several times that i would opt for sending a resignation letter, but after talking to my best friends some of them suggested me becoming inactive and blocking my congregation's elders.
i've changed my mind and i will do that because the people that i care the most now know what's going on so they won't be worrying about me not attending the meetings.
Even when "fading," well-meaning family and friends may try to "encourage" you to come back for some time. I caution that you don't get into any discussions about details as to why, just some ambiguous statement. There are many that have been shared on JWN, and perhaps to you in previous posts.
We left 20 years ago, just stopped going, and the "encouragement" last for about 7 years, gradually fading to nothing at all now. But, don't say anything that could be interpreted as being negative about the WTS and its teachings.
Glad to hear you have taken your first steps into freedom.

i think the wtb&ts publication titled "the kingdom interlinear of the christian greek scriptures" speaks for itself.. the word for word translation of the greek into english.. that publication does not even contain the name or word jehovah either in hebrew letters or greek letters anywhere in the word for word texts.. their is not one scripture in the n.t.
where christians ,followers of jesus christ are instructed to be witnesses of jehovah ,however there are something like twenty scriptures that explicitly state followers of jesus christ are to be witnesses of, for, and about jesus...
Good answer, SBF.
Good questions, smiddy3. I was not personally supporting the viewpoint of the WTS about Isaiah 43, merely reporting what the WTS says it means. Sorry if I hadn't made that clear.

admit it, we all have things that we reel off when people ask what our favourite music is, just the same as if people ask what our favourite movies are.
we're meant to say "citizen kane" and "casablanca" and not "battleship" or "pacific rim" but we know what we're going to watch if they are ever on tv at the same time (and which ones we've never actually seen).. so how about some confession time?
what do you listen to when no one else is in the house?.
All or nothing, better than great. He has some good humor, personal revelations, and was willing to play quite a few of his old songs, Wings songs, and some of his new songs.
He talks about his family.
His grandchildren call him Granddude.
It is hard for me to think of him as a grandfather.
if a jw had the nerve to ask me this question, i'd say to them, "you go first.
using only scriptural proof, show me why you believe that the wtbts/ccojw is god's choice and i'll tell you if i agree with your scriptural reasoning.".
wait for the silence and the rabbit in the headlights moment.. i searched on the wt cd rom for references of "channel of communication.".
What is the WTS definition of presumptousness?
https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2017246#h=12:0-13:383
What are “presumptuous acts”? By definition, when someone rashly or impertinently does something that he is not authorized to do, he is acting presumptuously. Because of inherited sin, we all act presumptuously at times. But as King Saul’s example illustrates, if we develop a pattern of pushing ahead, sooner or later we will find ourselves in serious trouble with God. Psalm 119:21 says of Jehovah: “You rebuke the presumptuous.” Why is that?

I guess that means the WTS IS presumptuous.
hello all.. i implore you to the time out and listen to this podcast where sam harris interviews the granddaughter of the founder of the westboro baptist church, about her experience there and leaving.
megan phelps-roper.. the parallels to the jw world are astounding!.
https://samharris.org/podcasts/171-escaping-christian-cult/.
I saw the tv series "Why We Hate" on Discovery, episode one. They have an interview with the granddaughter.
I have DirectTV, and you probably can find it on their OnDemand feature. Or somewhere else if someone on here knows that.
She explains why she thought she was doing the right thing and what made her start questioning and researching which led to her decision to leave.
This might work
