Congregation in PA sues over mandatory reporting
by Corney inivy hill congregation of jehovah's witnesses is currently suing the pa department of human services.
it requests "a declaration that its elders are entitled to" clergy privilege, or, in the alternative,.
to the extent that the clergyman privilege is determined to exclude its elders on the basis that they are "members of [a] religious organization[] in which members other than the leader thereof are deemed clergymen or ministers," the court declare the statute to be unconstitutional.

Rattigan350, I was just saying how the WTS is being deceitful, hiding behind the label "clergy." at the same time saying they are not a clergy. Nothing really stays secret on an elder body. It only takes one elder telling his talkative wife, or nosy family members who look at KH files he has unlocked in a file at home (not allowed), or family members who listen in on phone calls. The WTS only tries hard to keep secret who the pedophiles are in their midst, or accept their plea for forgiveness, means slate clean and pedophile is very likely to continue abusing/raping children. I know that confidentiality is found among other disciplines, but then it means nothing if that individual tells other (even other psychiatrists, doctors, lawyers, etc).

Start of the Great Tribulation will be announced soon
by joey jojo inat the 2021 annual meeting, samuel herd revealed new light and claimed the anointed will all have passed away before armageddon.
it has since been revealed that while they will die before armageddon, there will be some anointed still around that will witness the start of the great tribulation.. so the question is, how many years until the existing members of the governing body have passed away?.
im not a doctor, but based on their age and various stages of obesity, im thinking 10- 15 years- give or take, sounds about right.. with that in mind, the great tribulation could be announced any day.. the new understanding has now freed the org from the burden of having to identify a particular generation in relation to the date of armageddon.

Waton, if I understand "exactly, I believe JJ was mistaken about that. that idea was not a wt doctrine for the last 70 years", I was trying to show how the WTS changes their beliefs whenever they start getting backed into the corner on the current one. I always wondered if the anointed were to live through Armageddon and live on the earth afterwards for a time, that would mean they would not be in heaven for the wedding of Jesus and the Bride of Christ. (now remember this does not mean I think this now, just reporting, not supporting). It bothered me for quite awhile and I commented on it here on JWN, but then patience paid off, the WTS changed it to the current belief. I always wondered if certain jws read my comments and realized they had to change it?

The thing I remember, is that no one can "earn" everlasting life. It is how we live our life up until Armageddon per the WTS. Life is a gift, there is no way to buy it, since humans in the bible are considered imperfect, and only a perfect person can pay the price. It is not a competition to see how many people you study with become jws. Converting a person is a group effort. Just reporting, not supporting WTS ideas. There are some people who have never seen a person they study with become jws. So will the person who does, get a greater reward, everlasting life for all who do their best and are faithful to their end. Letters of recommendation really are not better than spending time with the individual and seeing for yourself what kind of person he/she is. Your actions speak louder than any other person's words about you.

How To Talk About Interpretation With Jehovah's Witnesses.
by Vanderhoven7 inthis from my book: good news for jehovah's witnesses.
before we discuss any doctrinal issues, i would like to distinguish between what i believe is proper versus improper interpretive practice.... so you know what i can accept as biblical and what i can't accept.. basic guidelines for validating doctrinal claims`).
i. there must be at least one scriptural reference that can be cited for support of any doctrinal claim or position.. ii.

truth_b_known, yes, it is amazing what you can learn by reading a bible without the WTS nonsense ringing in your ear. Sometimes people think I believe the nonsense as I am trying to show the official stance of the WTS, by saying "reporting not supporting."

Blood: When an Active JW is Health POA for non-JW
by JW_Researcher inmy mother has designated my sister as her ‘designated health care representative.’ my sister has sworn to my mother that, if my mother needs blood, my sister will not refuse it.
there are no anticipated (key word) needs for blood at this time.
my mother is in her early 80s.. my mother has never been a jw but is very familiar with all aspects of jwdom and understands the risk of my sister not allowing blood if my mother needed it.

Thanks, JW_Researcher. Yes, it was a tricky situation and all the jw family members had to have a powwow so we would all be on the same page. Rules and laws, written and unwritten drives the WTS.

Bad Associations spoil useful habits. Are the JWs right? Scripturally?
by Open mind init has been interesting for me to learn the various ways that the jws twist the scriptures to fit their own dogma.
(of course jws aren't alone in that, but that's another topic.
) two quick examples of jws not following or going beyond the bible are blood and birthdays.

I agree, Foolednomore, I didn't even trust ex-jws that I really didn't know. Ex-jws can change their mind and want to go back and will use the info on you to make their own case look good to the elders.

Rattigan, in the Catholic Church, one person confesses to one priest privately, but the priest does not share it with other priests. It is different with the WTS, because 3 elders are involved in the judicial committee or even if just discussing that person with the whole BOE, it is not the same. So I feel based on the Catholic Church handling of this, not even telling court/law enforcement, the WTS is being deceptive about this. But as informed ex-jws inform the non-jw secular law systems, those secular systems are having their eyes opened.

2022 - 1914 = ?
by fedup inobviously not the orgs brightest moment for teaching that the generation of 1914 would be alive to see paradise.
forget the "new light" that bought them an extra 100 years, which if any other religion would've done this, the org would scream false religion.
the fact is that for 75 years this #1 recruiting message from the society was a lie.. i asked a current jw to get a calculator and do the math: 2022 - 1914 = an angry reaction.

My husband was a newly baptized jw as we started coming up on 1994 and the WTS did a little song and dance article on what generation meant. Then in 1995 they hit members with the big explanation of how the new meaning of generation affected the 70 or 80 year scripture. I had told my husband after I read the article when the WT came in the mail, I told my husband and he said, "You predicted that 2 years ago." I am a prophet and didn't know it. And know the WTS has adjusted that using "overlapping generation." I wonder what they would say if the day comes when that teaching becomes outdated? I figure I will not be around to see it though.
