WATCHTOWER's RTO (Remote translation offices) like this one are million dollar luxury locations
by Terry inmore than 60 percent of our full-time translation teams work, not at branch offices, but at remote translation offices (rto).
why is this arrangement beneficial?
what equipment do translators need in order to work effectively at an rto?

Start of the Great Tribulation will be announced soon
by joey jojo inat the 2021 annual meeting, samuel herd revealed new light and claimed the anointed will all have passed away before armageddon.
it has since been revealed that while they will die before armageddon, there will be some anointed still around that will witness the start of the great tribulation.. so the question is, how many years until the existing members of the governing body have passed away?.
im not a doctor, but based on their age and various stages of obesity, im thinking 10- 15 years- give or take, sounds about right.. with that in mind, the great tribulation could be announced any day.. the new understanding has now freed the org from the burden of having to identify a particular generation in relation to the date of armageddon.

"at the 2021 annual meeting, samuel herd revealed new light and claimed the anointed will all have passed away before armageddon." Wow, the younger GB members, better get their affairs in order, because they will be dying sooner than they think. haha But the WTS does not call it the "rapture" although that is what it is, just semantics. The GB members and other "anointed" jws have to be in heaven for the wedding of Jesus and the Bride. And now the WTS says that will be shortly after the "great tribulation" starts. So since the GT is just around the corner, very, very soon now, in the toenails of the feet of the image, etc. Then they will all be just be new boys and need to go to new boy school. With the "overlapping generations" maybe that can stretch the time out for all of them to be dead, as long as more jws don't start thinking they are anointed now and start partaking. Blondie

My personal thoughts on Ray Franz
by Terry inthe death of ray franz hit me harder than i would have thought.. i had to reflect for awhile....alone......and quietly.. .
after all, fine people die every day and some of them are indispensable, yet, we go on....don't we?.
but, ray franz was something that can only be described in the phrase sui generis (one of a kind).. my task was to ask myself what it was that made ray so singular, potent and admirable without a trace of scandal or ill will attached to his memory.. .

Thanks, Terry, I meet Ray and Cynthia many times on our way back and forth from Florida. It was always fun and positive. Cynthia always had us laughing out loud and Ray too but it would sneak up on you later how funny it was. He shared photos of him and Cynthia in their missionary assignments. They both spoke fairly good Spanish because of that. They are sad to leave their home and the people there to go to headquarters for Ray to be on the GB. He was stunned as to what went behind the doors. And though Fred Franz was his father's brother, he did not know him at all, and Fred did not interact with him much at all. I'm sure he had several aha moments, but felt some how it would be corrected by god (wait on Jehovah). He would take me back in his office and show me letters he had gotten from people who had been affected so positively by what he wrote; and then he would write back! I'm glad we were able to do that. I just looked online and found their phone number and called. No problem, he said stop by on down to FL or back. I enjoyed going down memory lane about Ray with you. Love Blondie

Watchtower Dishonesty aka Theocratic Warfare
by Vanderhoven7 ini would like to collect as many instances of watchtower dishonesty and pretense as possible.
here is one from a bulgarian as an example of what i'm looking for.. are jehovah's witnesses disfellowshipped for receiving blood in a hospital?.
helge fauskanger writes: "if witnesses can’t convince the elders that they are utterly “repentant” for this vampiric lapse of theirs, they will be held to have disassociated themselves from the religion — even if they never said a word about wanting to leave it!

4 New GB Helpers
by Reservations inapparently 4 new gb helpers as per reddit.
1) paul gillies.
2) johnathan smith.

Reservations: "Apparently Gillies is now partaking, he’ll be GB within 3 years." This is exactly the process used to decide if baptized male partakers are possible GB members. Bring in as helpers and the other GB can "scrutinize" if they are worthy of being on the GB. More importantly, do they obey the GB in all things. But by that time, these "helpers" have already demonstrated they do, the GB just wants to see it in person. The GB has to come up with more candidates for the GB to make the "overlapping generation" belief last as long as possible.

My second comment addition to my previous: Like many religions, they have adjusted many times, beliefs, history, etc. And like many religions, the public front is much different from what goes on behind the scenes. I lived in "Mormon" country for 4 years and some were wanting to explain their beliefs and get you to join them. But I did my homework and I found their beliefs even more bizarre than WT ones, probably because I was still somewhat indoctrinated. But I was able to raise good questions with LDS individuals that made think step back and think but then go back to their cognitive dissonance. I have been on the ex-Mormon discussion boards and we compared notes, many things the same as to organization type. But I always treat each one I meet with friendliness because of how individual LDS treated me, with respect and kindness, something I did find much in the WTS, but enough to change to LDS.

I confirm this. We found out that day from Cynthia because we were just leaving to come down to visit them. We were stunned but told Cynthia we would stop by anyway for a short chat. It was so sad for her, a loving partner for so long. She and Ray did so much to help PIMOs and POMOs and others with painful questions, loving them and supporting them. Both bought out much time from their personal lives.
Commander...if memory serves me, I believe Ray took a fall on some ice and hit his head. That led to brain hemorrhage complications and his passing a few days after the fall. Blondie should be able to confirm or correct my recollection.

Is it okey to express your love for Jesus currently as a Jehovah's witness?
by Kosonen inis it okey to express your love for jesus as a jehovah's witness?.
it should be, even though it would lift some eyebrows in the congregation.
let's see what jesus said:.

What I noticed over the years is that the WTS often makes statements with the phrase "Jehovah and Jesus Christ" always putting Jesus in second place or an afterthought. Checking their songs, I found that "Jehovah" was used overwhelming more than "Jesus." Very few songs featured Jesus alone. While even their bible only uses the phrase "witnesses of Jesus" in the new testament, the WTS calls its members, "Jehovah's witnesses." So jws tend to leave Jesus out of the conversation, only a tool used by their god to provide jws eternal life on a paradise earth. The WTS says that their members cannot approach their god except through the governing body; that one cannot pray through Jesus alone. I am not surprised that many if not most jws do not mention their love for Jesus much in the sense you picture. There are more things I could add. https://jwfacts.com/watchtower/faithful-discreet-slave.php

blondie, don't you mean 120 years before the flood, instead of 120 days before the flood? DJ w Thanks for catching that! Of course, there is no scriptural support for this, I said it in the past as a joke, not a real belief, mine especially. It shows how easy it is to set a date. The WTS once said the great tribulation started in 1914 and was temporarily put on hold until a future date. The WTS then changed it to that the great tribulation had not started yet and was yet future. They through some jws into a loop, my family had always maintained that the GT had not started in 1914, but kept it to themselves. But when the change came, they burned up the telephone lines discussing it (across the country when long distance was expensive). I don't support the WTS views past or present, just reporting not supporting.
