Details of Noah’s Ark
by enigma1863 injw magazines have claimed the flood story has so much detail that it couldn’t be just a made up story.. is it detailed?
name one person outside of noah’s family.
name one nephilim.

On another direction, name Noah's wife, or daughters-in-law. Probably because they were just women and not important.

No more public WT & Awake?
by mikeflood inhave you guys noticed, this year 2023 no more public edition magazines...i wonder how they are gonna spin that fact.

I went on WOL and looked for public WTS, and there are none. Probably the WTS will just have jws use the old magazines that are piling up at KHs and people's homes.

Why are so many Jehovah’s Witnesses Angry and Rude?
by Vanderhoven7 inwhy do you think many jws are hostile and rude?
or is that just my imagination?.
mark jones writes: the vast majority of jehovah’s witnesses are nice people.

I find that many are self-righteous and see the people at the door already toast at Armageddon. They see these people as ignorant of the bible (when too many jws don't know the bible themselves, just pat phrases the WTS teaches them, or figure the publication will do the witnessing). I have been with jws that rile up the person so much I have had to interrupt them and politely ask the person to forgive us and escort the jw off the property quietly. I finally preferred going by myself. Some jws see the person at the door's correct response to their rudeness as proof that they the jw is being "persecuted." Most jws only go door to door to insure their everlasting life on earth, not to share that prospect with non-jws. CYA.

How Will They End 1914 Teaching?
by EmptyInside ini'm sure this has been discussed, but 1914 has to go away.
instead of, the overlapping generation teaching, they should have just ditched 1914. .
they should have done that a long time ago with 1975. it's the last of the teachings in the charles taze russell era.. i'm thinking they just will stop talking about it, and it will be out of the mind of the rank and file loyal witnesses .

These responses while thought-provoking, the jws are not encouraged to think, but to obey the WTS in all things even if they don't understand. I doubt the WTS would use any of your ideas to convince ordinary jws. But it seems to keep the rest of you thinking.

It’s started COBE asking all appointed men if they are fully vaccinated
by Indoubtbigtime inthere is a huge problem now in all congregations as the gb stubbornly will not do the u turn on staying fully vaccinated that many hoped they would do.. all congregations around the world the cobe has to ask all ministerial servants and elders if they are fully vaccinated (meaning no more than six months since last shot).
there is a massive problem now with many many jdubs not getting their latest boosters and not wanting to stay fully vaccinated .
but more serious than that is how the gb painted themselves into a corner with these vaccine mandates.. most governments did a u turn on the vax mandates but the gb can’t get out of this one so easily .

FFGhost your comments jive with what it said to the elders in their letter from the WTS. "Just to clarify….
The vaccine requirements are for “theocratic schools” only. Things like the pioneer school, elders school (5 day and 1 day), etc.
if it doesn’t have “school” in the title, a vaccine is not required.
So the meeting with pioneers & the CO, the meeting with elders & CO, etc. are not included. No vaccine requirements for “meetings”, only for “schools”.
That said, I would not be surprised if some (many?) overzealous COBEs start making / enforcing their own personal rules and start badgering people about their vaccination status for unnecessary things. But that would not be the official WTS position."

JW's are NOT connected to the WTBTS....
by BoogerMan in.....just as gerrit losch of the g.b.
claimed he has nothing to do with it - or vice versa.. i suppose that's why him & his jw g.b.
cronies assume total control of the wtbts annual meeting every year - because they're totally separate from each other!

This is a misrepresentation by the WTS to protect themselves from personal actions by individual jws like elders or COs that speak as a representative, but are not acknowledged by the WTS. The WTS has separated the financial/legal departments from the GB group to protect the GB from liability. The WTS has counseled jws not to say, "the Society says" or the "paragraph says" so it is clear it is not the legal organization words. It is a moot point in reality. Some really wild things have gotten into the newspaper because a single jw representing himself as a jw spokesman officially. w98 3/15 18-19 Living Up to Christian Dedication in Freedom
4 In order to avoid misunderstandings, Jehovah's Witnesses try to be careful about how they express themselves. Instead of saying, "the Society teaches," many Witnesses prefer to use such expressions as, "the Bible says" or, "I understand the Bible to teach." In this way they emphasize the personal decision that each Witness has made in accepting Bible teachings and also avoid giving the false impression that Witnesses are somehow bound to the dictates of some religious sect.

Whatever workaround the WTS comes up with, if the rank and file jws don't understand it the WTS says that they should obey because it is coming from "god's organization."

Jehovah's witnesses sying County Governor om Oslo and Boken, Norway
by InquiryMan inoops title going wrong.

this afternoon a press release from the jw has been published in major news outlets in norway concerning the withdrawal of registration etc..

Well, if the WTS does not fit the Norwegian government's definition of the status the WTS is seeking, they might need better lawyers. The WTS feels their definition outvotes any government other than Christ's and that they are the only true representatives of Christ on earth. We'll see if it the legal government definition wins. If it does, then the WTS will say it is persecution from Satan.

Watchtower is Run Like the Mafia
by Sea Breeze inanybody else notice this?
the have a syndicate (governing body) regional bosses (district overseers), captians (circuit overseers), and elders are their "made men" that enforce policy at street level.
if you run your mouth too much, they wipe out your whole family (disfellowshipping).

Strange to hear that now. In the late 60's and 70's "heavy" brothers/elders came up from Chicago to run conventions in WI. Now, they were also called the "Mafia." It really was no joke in reality.
