Revelation book
by Gorb indo you remember the jw.org book of revelation and how many times we had to study it?
in retrospect, all those hours turned out to be for nothing, the explanation of the prophecies is now completely outdated..

Advice to reduce hours earn less and spend more time on the ministry
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inthe advice to reduce work and earn less to spend more time preaching has not aged well.. the cost of living crisis means many have more going out on necessities than they have coming in.. so many asked their employer to reduce their hours and refused promotion only to see their colleagues go up the ladder when they stayed lowly position with rubbish jobs thinking the end will be here soon.
next week midweek meeting is all about preparing for an economic crisis.. they say have a go bag and new advice for all jws to store food and water at home and grow a vegetable garden, i kid you not.
this is the new direction..

I can't find the article, but some years back the WTS had a study article encouraging congregations to take care of ailing parent's of Gilead graduates on assignment so these graduates could stay in their assignment and not go back to care for them. I'll keep looking but if you know where it is, could you share it?

Had to take a break to get my chores caught up; Last section: Strengthen Your Love
This implies that any jw had "real" love or knew what it was outside the WTS definition. Many jws just perpetuate the type of love they were show in their congregation
I left the WTS finally, where I realized that the WTS and its members didn't show the Christlike love they sad they did, that they were the only ones that did. (Ha!)
During the Pandemic, jws had an easier time faking love. No longer at the meetings and have to give a semblance, most just avoided it by not talking to people, talking about them behind their back, etc. Now that everyone is supposed to come back to in person meetings, they have lost their skills at avoiding people they don't really like and hiding it. Diversity! Avoidance is the name of the game. I invited many people to my house, but never an invite back, but they would say, "We have to get together for dinner some time. Five years later, I was still waiting for an invite. Or the people who had not talked to each other for 10 years, sitting on other sides of the KH, refusing to go to the same "book study" as some people, getting out of pairing up with those people in door to door, even to the point that one elder in one congregation who scheduled talks, would not schedule speakers from another congregation and not talked to his brother who was an elder for 20 years until his brother died (just lived 40 miles from each other). It is a fantasy that jws welcome people other than their close "circle of friends" - cliques. (weasel words, likely, perhaps) Some elders, would point out to me that Jesus loved some of the apostles more than others, pointing to John "the beloved" apostle, but obviously the others did not know that as they found several times with each other who was the greatest. Are jws following this admonition from WT publications "According to Peter, why can we not limit our brotherly affection to those to whom we are naturally attracted? On the pretext that the Scriptures allow for our having warmer feelings for some brothers than for others, are we inclined to rationalize our feelings? ( 20:2)"
The WTS mentions responding with "frequent calls and messages" but the only time elders seem to have time to do this is to discuss some failing a jw is reported to have.
Personalities that irritate us, difficult to get along with, different backgrounds...people who are irritating and difficult. Verbally abusive or spiritually abusive? (weasel words, obviously)
Love vital during GT...find protection? "Inner rooms" has been defined by the WTS "may refer" to the local congregation (not a building though). "Seems" like those words "also apply to us" (only jws though) "stick close" show compassion" What is the motivation per the WTS: "reward us with eternal life in a world "where disasters and tribulation will be forgotten (with a convient labotomy).

Some years ago, Martin Poetzinger gave the main talk at the Sunday afternoon district convention. I was able to talk to them because of my good use of the German language (I am German) and that I was born and grew up in the area of Dachau, after WW2 by some years. He and his wife were so different from GB today, from a different era. Yes, both of their camps were very bad; I researched this for a class assignment, and I learned a lot. A private conversation lends itself to more comments than those in the WT publications. The head rabbi of the local synagogue (who also had been in a camp and survived) joined the conversation and I just listened. As the WTS has traveled down into the pit of mediocrity, carefully crafted lies, and hiding what they are, it is hard to believe people like this existed.

The WTS position on whose prayers the jw god hears, is never definitely stated in the publications. 1) Does god hear the prayers of non-jws? 2) Cornelius was a Gentile, the bible says his prayer was heard, in fact the account says that Peter was directed to go to Cornelius, based on that prayer and Peter resisted 3) he was directed to do so 3x before Peter went 3) Cornelius and his family were baptized before having holy spirit come down on them 4) does god hear the prayers of df'd jws? or not until the elders decide they are qualified 5) does god hear the prayers of people who identify as Christians but are not jws 6) I have a lot of questions, but the WTS does a dance around this every time. To me the WTS/GB/elders places themselves in this order of who hears prayers, God-Jesus-Governing Body-Elders. Who decides what is a proper prayer, certainly not men on earth. Well, just my questions from days gone by, and that still remain. (and the WTS/GB says they don't pray to Jesus only God but those prayers have to go through Jesus.!!!

JWs don't consider older WT as revelant
by enoughisenough ini am relating this happening.
i shared some thoughts from the 1989 question from readers concerning christ being mediator between god and man ( the wt spinning that he isn't ) and also the paragraph in that same article that plainly says: clearly, then the new covenant is not a loose arrangement open to all mankind.
it is a carefully arranged legal provision involving god and anointed christians.

The WTS is careful in print to say "paid clergy" which implies they have an unpaid clergy. A so-called legal approach quibbling about words by the WTS to CTA (plural of CYA). As to the mediator article in 1989, I always ask, is there some WT info that is more recent that adjusts or clarifies that teaching?
The current Insight book says about Mediator, considered up-to-date info for jws to use for research (also cited in the same place as the 1989 article: "Those for Whom Christ Is Mediator. The apostle Paul declares that there is “one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all”—for both Jews and Gentiles. (1Ti 2:5, 6) He mediates the new covenant between God and those taken into the new covenant, the congregation of spiritual Israel. (Heb 8:10-13; 12:24; Eph 5:25-27) Christ became Mediator in order that the ones called “might receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance” (Heb 9:15); he assists, not the angels, but “Abraham’s seed.” (Heb 2:16) He assists those who are to be brought into the new covenant to be ‘adopted’ into Jehovah’s household of spiritual sons; these eventually will be in heaven as Christ’s brothers, becoming a part with him of the seed of Abraham. (Ro 8:15-17, 23-25; Ga 3:29) He has transmitted to them the promised holy spirit, with which spirit they are sealed and are given a token of what is to come, their heavenly inheritance. (2Co 5:5; Eph 1:13, 14) The total number of those who are finally and permanently sealed is revealed in Revelation 7:4-8 as 144,000." And in 2008, the WT says "What does Jesus’ role as Mediator involve? Well, Jehovah applies the value of Jesus’ blood to those being brought into the new covenant. In this way, Jehovah legally credits them with righteousness. (Rom. 3:24; Heb. 9:15) God can then take them into the new covenant with the prospect of their becoming heavenly king-priests! As their Mediator, Jesus assists them in maintaining a clean standing before God.—Heb. 2:16."

A new Tony Morris thread: Question
by XBEHERE ini am not trying to hijack the already well commented on thread on this subject .
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5068920948523008/breaking-news-anthony-morris-iii-no-longer-serving-on-governing-body.
however i do have a question: for pimo's, pimq's, and those who still go to meetings in person fairly regularly... is anyone still talking about this?

Journeyman, yes, here it is in print, if you don't understand what the WTS says, obey anyway. "At that time, the life-saving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not." W 2013 11/15 p 20.
