My copy only goes up to page 359 (the rest is index and ads) but on page 7 of Chapter 1 "False and True", the second paragraph says:

in 1967 or 1968 the society had a film out designed for teenagers titled "heritage".
it was the most pathetic, but hilarious propaganda movie i ever remember seeing.
does anyone know if this movie is still in existence?
I was a teenager in the 60's and don't remember seeing this. Of course, we weren't going to meetings much then either.

Didn't they move the printing part of the French Bethel to Britain? That might account for the need for expansion...maybe the confidence in the legal success in France is not as strong and the this move will be permanent.

the starkness of black ink on white paper.. in one recent case, that hidden reality is sad, indeed.. take a good look at a particular contrast.
In the WT article (8/26) hippikon posted, "Be Joyful Harvest Workers", I counted 27 words with "joy" in them and 6 with "rejoice." So joy is the word. Also, recently the concept is "divine backing" which was in every paragraph at least once if not twice in a recent study article.
Conclusion, the R&F are having a problem believing the FDS has divine backing and lack joy in serving Jehovah evident by the decreasing meeting attendance, preparation and participation.
The whole DC seemed to emphasize that JWs are not studying enough or participating enough. The quality of comments is going down quickly. Everybody just reads it out of the paragraph...."the paragraph says"...I thought it was "the Bible says."

Thanks, AlanF. Very good research and concisely put. I have done my own research on women being owned in the OT. It was eye-opening for me. I find it hard to convince anyone else about its long-reaching ramifications with regards to how women are discussed in the OT. If you want to help someone see, just remember you did not see it overnight. Also, don't ask someone to leave a place they feel is secure without offering something better, something to replace what they will be leaving. JWs have no social life outside the organization and some do not know where to start. (Of course, some don't have much of a social life in the organization.)

for decades now, those words have appeared atop one of the watchtower societys buildings in new york city.. that exhortation may never have been more needed by jehovahs people themselves than it is today.
recent posts have asked good questions regarding what can or will sustain individual jehovahs witnesses who do truly love god, but who may be disheartened by various things they have seen in the organization.. it is clear to me that many witnesses spend far more time reading the societys publications than gods word itself.
one reason sometimes given is that the preparation and research has already been done for you, thus making it easier.
I have always been disturbed the the account of Lot offering his daughters to the mob as well as the account of his daughters getting him drunk so he would have intercourse with them.
But during all of this was a contemporary of Lot who was married to his half-sister (Sarah) by whom he had a son (Isaac) who became the forefather of Jesus Christ. Abraham's wife was his half-sister. Later on, a Levite married his aunt and they had 3 children, Miriam, Aaron, and Moses. All these unions would be considered incestuous under the law as well as today.
I have nothing to infer just more to add to the situation. I have never understood why it was such a wonderful thing for Joseph to flee from immorality although there was no law against it but Judah could have sex with a prostitute and the explanation is that it was fine because there was no law yet. I guess adultery is worse than fornication.
