The WTS teaches that minor children who cannot make decisions for themselves (which the would put babies in this category) are protected by the status of just one parent, that is if one parent is "faithful" to jah (=WTS) they will survive. The WTS notes that the minor children of the people who died at the flood died forever. They can quibble about this, but this what I have been told over the 60 years of my contact with the WTS. Babies with non-jw parents (both) will die forever too with their parents, even pregnant women. But the WTS will dance around an answer like that.

At what point, does one become apostate to the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Vanderhoven7 inat what point does a jehovah’s witness cease to be a jehovah’s witness?
what if a witness doesn't believe some of the official teachings of the governing body but remains silent on these subjects to avoid being disfellowshipped?
is he or she an apostate to the faith?

"even thinking" I think the WTS "thinks" they and their representatives can "read minds," in print they admit they cannot. Of course if you speak your thoughts to someone or someones that can report you to the elders, that is different. I know the WTS thought they had verbal statements made to other jws who testified that (and could have lied to save their skin), that would have moved the WTS to use that. Ray Franz was not df'd and then left Bethel. That took place some time after when he was seen having dinner with a da'd jw. Interestingly enough, Ray's wife was also at that dinner but was not df'd or considered having da'd herself (straight from her and Ray to me in their kitchen.
WTS written comments on "reading minds" or hears to be added in an edit shortly.
WT March 2023 p. 30 Granted, Jesus could read hearts. We cannot. But we can make allowances for the imperfections of our brothers and sisters.
WT August 2022 p. 31 Like Joseph, we leave the judging to Jehovah. For example, we do not presume to know what motivates our brothers and sisters to act as they do. We cannot read hearts; only “Jehovah examines the motives.”
Come Be My Follower Chap. 4 p.39
WT October 2021 p. 6 The elders cannot read hearts, so they must rely on outward evidence that their brother has had a complete change of viewpoint toward his sin
WT 5/1/2001 p. 11 Yes, our Christian brothers and sisters can serve as “a strengthening aid” to us during life’s difficult moments and thus help us to preserve our joy. (Colossians 4:11) Of course, they cannot read our minds.
WT also, can supply source if asked.

The G.B. are now going to be EQUAL with Christ in heaven!!!!
by BoogerMan inthey are not just going to be "joint kings and priests," oh no, because the latest washtowel is sneakily implying that they will be "joint kings and high priests.

Good catch, one of the techniques of introducing a new idea, put it somewhere only attentive jws might see it. Then keep dropping "hints" and then a couple of years, drop the idea them but point back to previous statements and say it is not new.

I do remember those, but it was discontinued because congregations were comparing themselves with other congregations as if it were a competition..

Did anyone really enjoy assemblies?
by SydBarrett inthe twickenham post made me think of this.
i have a few jw family members on facebook and being summertime, their pics of the convention have shown up in my fb feed.
along with their comments about "i wished it would never end" or "what a glorious weekend".

No, I did like some of the food. I took notes commenting on what was fake and contrived (I took a lot of notes, used shorthand though).

The assembly’s principal talk, “Will Serving God Solve Your Problems?” also dealt at considerable length with marital problems. (1976--Sacred Service District assembly)

Only Jehovah’s Witnesses
I think this says it clearly enough: "Only Jehovah's Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil." Watchtower 1989 Sep 1 p.19
But here
What do people need to do to be symbolically marked for survival? (Ezekiel 9:4) They need to react favorably to the preaching work that is taking place, put on the Christian personality, dedicate themselves to Jehovah, and loyally support Christ’s brothers. Those who do these things will receive the mark of survival during the coming great tribulation.--Watchtower 2016 Questions from Readers p.17
What is the mark? It is the evidence, as if displayed on their uncovered foreheads, that such sheep are dedicated, baptized disciples of Jesus Christ and that they have put on the Christlike new personality. These sheeplike ones become one flock with anointed Christians and assist them in their vital work of marking still others.—Watchtower 2008 7/15 p.5
In ancient times slaves were often marked on the forehead to be clearly identified. Distinctive marks on the forehead and elsewhere might also show that a person worshiped a certain deity. So, in our day, what is the distinctive, lifesaving mark that clearly identifies its bearers as true worshipers and slaves of Jehovah?-Watchtower 1987 4/15 p.11
The mark” is the evidence that they are dedicated to Jehovah, baptized as disciples of Jesus, and involved in cultivating a Christlike personality.-Worship the Only True God book Chap. 13 p.120

How does God communicate with Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Vanderhoven7 ingilles gray writes:.
the short answer is, god communicates with jehovah’s witnesses very poorly indeed.. jehovah’s witnesses are the first to affirm that god doesn’t directly communicate with them at all.. however, this fact doesn’t stop them from making the baseless assertion that god communicates to them through reading the bible, through holy spirit and through their leaders (known as the governing body, or the faithful and discreet slave).. here is a claim made by one of the first leaders of the watchtower organisation:-.
communication through reading the bible.

In my area 6 regional conventions are being held at a local Assembly Hall over 6 weekends. The AH can only hold 2,000 to 2,500 people using the auditorium and seating in the old cafeteria area.

"How Long Would Jesus' Reign Be?"
by BoogerMan insimple enough question for a jw to answer, because the org has told them for over 100 years that, .
a) jesus would reign for 1000 years, and.
b) that his reign began in 1914 when he became king.

slimboyfat, I agree with you. The time from 1914 to now is not part of the 1,000 year reign. The WTS has discarded the teaching that a creative day is 7,000 years, but instead says thousands of years, and has not used that concept since 1987 (except a quote from a pre-1987 WT publication) but without any comment in the publications on the change (or in talks). I remember that was changed in a Tuesday night study book, and older witnesses missed the change, and were surprised when it had been edited in the new edition. Disobedient older jws had not discarded the old copy and gotten a new one. Newer jws adults/or in after 1987 had no clue. 2021 comment "So each of the six creative “days” during which God prepared the earth for life and created life on it could represent extremely long periods of time." 2006 "The fact is, the Bible reveals that the creative “days,” or ages, encompass thousands of years." 1988 "Hence, the evidence shows that the entire period of six days should be viewed as tens of thousands of years long."
