so you can see from multiple topics here (& elsewhere), based on gb update #4, jws now have permission to toast.. there’s been a boatload of “xyz is now allowed” over the past couple of years….beards, no ties in field service or at the kh, sister can wear pants at the kh & in field service…... what do you think is next?.

a lot of folks are speculating on birthday celebrations being allowed, and i agree that will eventually come, but i don’t think it is next.

WT1985 7/1 p. 22 pp.18 "This does not mean, however, that Jehovah’s people do not need to observe any rules. the topic concerning why the other user allows jw's by to eat is what prompted this thought in my mind.

maybe i am not remembering this correctly, but seem to remember a number of years ago that you decided to stop posting here and then all of a sudden you posted that this was an apostate website, you didn't want to be here, and that you were returning to jehovah.

( i may be slightly off, but it was something along those lines.. i am just wondering if you ever offered an explanation of why you did that?.

both disfellowshipping and shunning indicate the action of avoiding someone, taking them out of your sphere of associates.

probably is a better sound bite to say "removed.

LongHairGal, I send out Christmas cards every winter, but not Christian based, just winter based cards. It is a way to keep in touch, I send out birthday cards too.

bethel's morning worship was concluded with the announcement that antony morris iii is reappointed at the governing body with effect from july 2, 2025.. the reason for this deeply considered decision is the new understanding of toasting before consuming a drink.

the appointment of brother morris is an evidence of jehovah's blessing on the careful and conscientious efforts of the governing body.. g. .

Snakes had legs until Eden curse! Watchtower 1880 till 1974!!!

often flicking through watchtower bound volumes i would see pictures of eden which shows the snake in the tree of knowledge with legs??

even the photo drama of creation shows a snake with legs.. watchtower 1964 p.352 "genisis 3;14 {snake}on your belly you will go and dust you shall eat...before god curse it the snake had legs, that elivated it above the ground...god transformed it's body so that it ceased to have legs and was able to move on it's belly.".

god's eternal purpose 1974 "god did not put a curse on the whole serpent family...it had only been victimized by satan.. forrest gump watchtower science is price-less!.

What changed where everyone turned into prudes?" Amazing that Adam could not have a beard, but he could be naked. (As a child, I thought he and Eve must have gotten serious sunburns). Some of those pictures were lifted from other religious pictures, not generated in-house. By the 1950's, housewives were shown in dresses and high heels cooking and doing dishes. Looking at past pictures in WT publications for early times to now, is an education in itself.

I wondered myself when I viewed the #4 GB video...now I understand, perhaps they hired a hairdresser for him, realized he could not see (though he is spiritually blind), and had a speech therapist work with him to control his distracting mannerisms. :)
