Me too! I was 12 years old when dad took me out of the Kingdom Hall never to return. I look up to you and the other women on the board, because you suffered more than I did. You sacrificed more than I did. You endured more than I did. And you survived!
And the men on this board. Look at all the pain and suffering they went through all those years. No one could ever replace what all of you lost. At 12 I didn't lose all that much. And dad was not about to let them take anything away from me, so he and I left.
Now if Atlantis were sitting in this chair it would be a completely different story. He and grandma were in the organization for over 50 years. They suffered most of their life. And some of the stuff grandpa has told me that went on in the congregations, is enough to make you want to go outside and throw up.
So glad I am free!

How do you personally deal with your still in family JWS ?
by Finkelstein infor myself i just try to avoid them intentionally maybe see them once every couple of years on average.
they used to be easy going but over the last 10 years or so they got more cult like and distant and i'm really not bothered by that, maybe a bit.
they stick to their own or other members like they are their family so, its makes it unattractive for myself to connect and reach out to them anymore.

This recent video where governing body member, Anthony Morris III, refers to apostates as "maggots" and enemies of God, doesn't make it any easier for family members to associate with those not of the faith.
