i keep wondering how watchtower dares to say such lies.

Those of you who have been to this year district conventions know that during the drama Timothy's friend Ionatan was telling him about their plans to go and study in Athen. I keep wondering how Watchtower dares to say such lies. Where did they find this in the Bible? And they acuse other religions that are bringing adds to the Bible's messagge? Bunch of hypocrits.

some things confuse me here.

i am in the same position as many where i don't agree with so much the society says and feel stuck dragging myself to the meetings and then feel incredible guilt because the study for the day says it is wrong to have any doubts "even in private".

impossible for me!.

Welcome 5th G What I can tell you from my own experience is to take easy at the begining of this road. The emotional turmoil is huge so wait some time until taking important decisions.

Not an elder anymore?

i just found out from my son that my father is not an elder anymore.

he has no idea why.

of course i called home, but no one is there, probably at a meeting.

Another way for an elder to lose his privillege is by forming what is called a "Special Service Comitee" against him. The CO can form such a comitee upon the request of the others elders in the congregation. Do you know anything about your father having conflicts with other elders?

this was passed on to me:__________i found this on finnish forum, notice: this may be true or notjune 2005 km (finnish edition), page 7: "when searching information about jehovah's witnesses from internet, we recommend going straight to organization's official sites with address www.watchtower.org, www.jw-media.org or www.jehovantodistajat.fi instead of using different search programs, which gives results consisting mainly sites administred by apostates.

This is ridiculous. They don't give to JWs the right to individualy decide if they will take blood or not because they threat everybody with disassociation.

Shunning JWs and cultural background

it appears that most jw parents follow the insane instruction of the gb to shun their own children in case they leave or get expelled from the org, that's what we perceive by reading ex-jw sites.

that may well be the case in the english speaking countries mainly represented on this board for example, but i find it difficult to believe that the same occurs with jws of different origins eg southern european, latin american, japanese where family ties are much stronger.

the different cultural background could influence jws in taking certain decisions such as this.

Yes, you're right! I am from Romania (Eastern Europe) and here the parents rarely shun their disfollowshiped children. Usualy they meet and speak in secret withut other Witnesses knowning or seeing. Sometimes I find it hard to understant how peoples in US could listen to that bunch of idiots in GB and shun thei own offspring.

First: Martorii.com is a romanian site. You know, Romania in Eastern Europe? :D By the way do not confuse our capital, is Bucharest and not Budapest whitch is the capital of Hungary. And second: Yes martorii.com is against Watchtower ;)
