Some Things Never Die
The things you love that all have life, so quickly disappear.
God's little furry creatures die, some only live a year.
But, day after day when needed
the rain beats down from the sky
and you may know there is forever
some things never die.
Creation bespeaks of love, trees provide shade from the beating sun.
Yet, in time, their leaves fall, branches die, their time too is done.
But, day after day in gladness
the clouds roll past the sky.
You may look up and know for certain
some things never die.
Mankind may live, love and laugh, enjoying life from dusk 'til dawn
But, soon with little warning you'll find, they too will be gone.
Yet, look! The sun rise!
How it lights the entire sky!
Ah! You may know for sure there exists
some things that never die.
Even strong love can go wrong. The kind you thought would last forever.
Through heartache and tears one day you find it gone. Was it worth all your endeavor?
But, feel the solid earth beneath your feet.
When it speaks it doesn't lie.
It says, " I am here! Feel my solidity!"
Some things never die.
Even dreams and hopes of accomplishments can someday disappear, I know.
Strengths, ambitions and self esteem can fade and lose their glow.
So... of all the things that come and go,
On none of them rely.
Give over yourself to Jehovah who made
all the things that can never die.

"Just being seen on the street is a witness."
by seattleniceguy inremember how the witnesses used to always say that even if they didn't meet anyone home, just being seen by traffic on the street was a witness?
as if the people driving by are saying to themselves, "wow, look at those servants of the true god, bringing the waters of life to my door.
if only i weren't so bull-headed, i might listen to them and attain a good relationship with my creator.

I remember in the 70's info on how Jesus didn't enlarge the fringes of his garments to be viewed by men. Judas had to identify him with a kiss. The brothers ought to take THAT to heart and all stand around and kiss each other for identification.

When you returned to your "WORLDLY" family how were you treated?

when some return, there is no rejoicing, clapping or undue expressions of "joy" allowed openly.
the gb wants a period of proving yourself worthy to be back in the "fold".

When we leave the Witness "family" we know how inhumanly we're treated. When some return, there is no rejoicing, clapping or undue expressions of "joy" allowed openly. The GB wants a period of proving yourself worthy to be back in the "fold". (Hardly what the prodigal son's father did to him!) But, Let's put the shoe on the other foot. I was the only Witness and youngest in a family of 5 of us siblings. No grandparents, parents, or siblings ever in the org. My son and his family who was still in at the time also left with us. (my other two children were already out) . First I told my children why we left and ever so sincerely apologized for raising them in that way. I called my brothers and sisters and told them we left that religion and why. I was a Witness for 33 years and basically estranged from them all that time.
My whole family NEVER made me feel bad for my choice. NEVER made me feel guilty for separating from them all these years. NEVER humiliated me with "I told you so's" even tho' preaching at them was my only means of communication and they hated it. They all said they were so happy to have me back as a part of the family. I have no testing period to see if I'm worthy, regular communication both ways, and genuine love for the person they know me to be. I even got encouragement to acclimate at my own pace. I think Brooklyn could use a lesson.
If you were a Witness and returned to your "wordly" family, how were you treated?

Am I missing something? Wouldn't consuming them on a large scale make them endangered too? Maybe if we all ate elephants they wouldn't be endangered anymore.

I know a similar experience. Tapes do no good. Even if they recognized the voice themselves. Knew someone who did the same thing. Elders wouldn't listen and told the husband, " We don't want to hear the good sister curse."
Something to think about: Why give control of your life to men who can't get involved in personal affairs, and can't even solve their own problems? They turn a deaf ear to any evidence because when marriages break up it reflects on their "shepherding". The longer they can keep you together, the better they look. No regard for YOU whatsoever.
Grap your hat and run while you can salvage your children.
