If the seven times is a literal 7 years, how can they change it to 2520 years? Oh I forgot, the Watchtower Society can change the scriptures to suit them.

2520 Years

2520 years based on the prophetic year length of 360 days = 907200 days.. 907200 days from 607 bce = 1878 ce thereabouts +/- leap months etc and any other bits ive missed.. surely i've not missed that many "bits" to be 36 years off 1914??.
have i got this right?.

gato, not only did they have a fail prophecy in 1975 but their first fail prophecy was 1914 when they said the end of the world would come at that time, then they said 1918, and then 1925. There are so many lies they have told other then, when "the end of the world." would come. If you have your Awake magazines of 1994 and 1995, look on the inside cover where it tells the purpose of the magazine,it says "Most important this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peacefull and secure new world BEFORE the generation that SAW the events of 1914 passes away." They had this from March 1988- October 1995. They change it in November 1995. In the October 8, 1963 they even say "Jesus said the end would come BEFORE the generation of 1914 passes away." They change the meaning of the word "generation" in 1996 and now say the last days began in 1914 when Jesus became King. If God or Jesus had promised that, it would have came true. Now read in Deuteronomy 18: 20-22 what God says will happen to those who speak in his name. Stay on this post and others can tell you a whole lot more about the cult.

MAYSUN, WHEN i STILL WENT TO THE MEETINGS I HAD A BOOK STUDY MONDAY NIGHT, A MINISTRY SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND ON SUNDAY THERE WAS A PUBLIC TALK WHICH WAS FOLLOWED BY A WATCHTOWER STUDY. SATURDAY MORNING WAS SERVICE DAY AND YOU WENT OUT AND KNOCKED ON DOORS. IF YOU DID NOT WORK ON WEEK DAYS YOU GOT OUT IN SERVICE AND ESPECIALLY ON HOLIDAYS SINCE JW'S DO NOT CELEBRATE ANY.

Another WTS Contradiction!!!
by enlightenedcynic injust a thought that i had at a book study about two weeks ago when the chapter about why god permits suffering from the 'bible teach' book was being covered.
in paragraphs 12 -14 the wts lays out this ridiculous arguement likening god to a teacher and satan as a student who is disrupting a class.
the wts says that much like how a teacher might invite a rebellious and disruptive student to instruct the class so as to prove the student wrong....jehovah has allowed satan to operate for a time in order to prove that satan's way is wrong.

i told her one question to ask when they come knocking is if jesus is their mediator since most dubs don't know he isn't according to their own teachings.. any other simple questions one might ask?.

Ask them why they require two eye witnesses for the rape of a child, but in the Bible, a woman did not require any witnesses to be believed.
My son showed this very scripture Deuteronomy 22: 25-28 to a couple of Elders and about 2 weeks later he was DF for apostasy.

Ask them since they believe Jerusalem was desolated in 607 and they believe Nebuchadnezzar begin ruling in 624, how do they get 607 when the Bible at 2Kings 25: 8-9 says it was in Nebuchadnezzar's 19th year when Jerusalem was desolated.

JOSEPHUS AND THE DATE OF THE EXODUS!

) before solomon's temple was started,this would make exodus about 1552 bc,around ahmose 1 time.. we are told by josephus that moses led an army into ethiopia/cush capturing meroe?.
do you think the above is correct?.

Badboy, In the Insight book Vol. 1 page 777 "From Exodus to temple building.' says the time of the exodus was 1513 B.C.E. I have no idea when it was but if i had to choose, I would go with your information.

How much truth is there within the Watchtower Society?

I guess the WT society is about as "true" as any religious group.
undecided, I agree but what makes the WT so bad is, it is a cult. You can't get out of a cult alive. The WT will kill you [spirtually] if you disagree with them and label you an apostate so your own family and those who you thought were your friends will view you as tho you don't even exist.
