Jeremiah 25:11 "These nations shall serve the King of Babylon 70 years." 2CHRONICLES 36:20 shows they served him (NEB.) and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia. The reign of PERSIA BEGAN IN 539. JEREMIAH 29:10 "after 70 years be accomplished AT Babylon I will visit you and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place." Jehoiakim began to rule in 609. 609-539=70 years.

talking to my Mom about the JW's - I need some help
by James_Slash infirstly, i left the jw's about 5 years ago.. my mom is still in.. i've spoken to her on a number of issues and even though she has doubts that the jw's are the 'true' religion, mainly due to the paedophile scandal and the generation changes, she said to me today that "if the jw's are not the true religion, then who is?
" she also stated that it was jesus' command in the bible to "preach the good news of the kingdom - only jw's do that".. what can i come back with?.

The preaching of the "Good News" was fullfilled before the end came in 70 C.E. Paul said it had at Colossians 1:23. So the end never came before the work was done. Matthew 24: 15-21, Jesus said, When you catch sight of the disgusting thing (Roman Army) .......then there will be a great tribulation such as not occurred since the World's beginning until now,nor will occur again." Jesus said there would not be another "Great Tribulation" but the Watchtower organization says there will be. The last days began in 33 C.E. (Joel 2:28) and ended in 70 C.E.
