I HATE THE WATCHTOWER

ahhhh!!!

lately it enrages me to read all the bs on the watchower!!!!!!!

when i started my fade i felt sad and quietly resentful, but now i'm just flat-out angry!!!!.

Paul, leading authority on Christianity, does NOT quote Jesus!

paul's letters practically invent christianity.. the gospels trickled in after him.. paul never walked with jesus and yet explains him.. never a quote from the master at all.. yet, paul is such a maven.. if jesus couldn't be bothered to actually reveal what he was all about to his apostles with whom he ate, drank, spoke and slept---why this persecutor, saul?.

the apostles heard every word jesus spoke and were willing to die for him.. paul didn't--yet--miraculously explained every detail of the entire history of god's purpose including his messiah.. .

can anybody provide a non-gimmick answer?.

How does the watchtower come up with it's dates? (607, 1878, 1914, 1975 etc)

hey folks sharpie here.. .

can you help me out to find out how the watchtower gets to the date 607 and is it used in the 1914 doctrine?

information about 1975 and other key years in the watchtower's history will be neat to have to, such as the date judge came up with involving the return of abraham, david, and others.

Elder wants to do "other activities" with me

i'm fully aware that this is a cult, and i was waiting for the social elements to kick in.

so far, i have just been doing the "bible study," discussing doctrine, etc.

however, recently one of the elders said he wants to get together with me to do other activities.

"Other activities" could mean going out in service but you might ask him what he means.

Doubtful he meant anything "Spiritual."

i felt welcomed by the warm response i got to my last question.

my experience has been mixed in some christian forums and i am never sure what to expect but the people here do seem warm.. because i do not want people to feel threatened in any way - though it would probably be help to all - i usually try not to discuss my beliefs but some have asked what they are and it may be helpful to the nature of the question.. right now, i am going through a spiritual search and looking to see where i fit in.

i do have liberal beliefs about god and jesus and am not sure in what church i would fit.

WT article on ''never have we said Jehovah has said"

been going nuts looking for this.. i am sure i have read, and probably saved, a quote by them about not being false prophets but i am buggered if i can find it anywhere in search, google or my own pc.. can you help?.

i think its 2009 but not sure, where they have the line 'never have we said ''jehovah has said'' when ...'.

a link or pdf or scan or cut n paste, etc would be great!.
