The announcements say there are no plans to include this song in future print editions of the song book. However I rather interpret this as a demotion of the significance of print publications rather than the song. Until now there has been relative parity of provision between print and electronic media. Is this a sign they intend to phase out print altogether?

PERPLEXITY A.I. analyzes the Watchtower Organization
by Terry ini like to at least try to stay current with developments in artificial intelligence rather than get stuckwith first impressions and knee-jerk snap judgments that circulate among the public who really don'tinvest any in-depth analysis in forming their views.with that having been stated, i turn to perplexity a.i.
perplexity ai's strength lies in its ability to serve as a powerful research companion, delivering comprehensive and up-to-date information across a wide range of topics.135 its advanced nlp capabilities, real-time information gathering, and versatility make it a valuable tool for researchers, writers, recruiters, and professionals in various fields._______________i asked perplexity to give an in-depth overview and analysis of the watchtower, it's gb, and its problems.here are the results:____________.

A lot of it sounds plausible, but some parts less so. It claims the Governing Body has a high turnover of members and that this causes instability. But that’s nonsense. Governing Body members hold their position for life and only a few have ever resigned or been forced out. Only Raymond Franz definitely resigned for doctrinal reasons, possibly Morris too, but we don’t know. The other two, Greenlees and Chitty, were expelled for moral reasons. In all other cases (around 30 individuals as far as I can make out) Governing Body members served until death or are current members. In no sense can this be described as a high turnover.

Do JWs Really Say This?
by NotFormer ini stumbled, via a google search, upon a part of jw space that is usually heavily defended against outsiders like my good self.
in a discussion, someone started their post with "i (started doing x)... when the slave began to suggest doing so"*.
do pimis really talk that way?

“Society” is old school and can mark you out as very out of touch if you use it these days. “Slave” is still current. The full phrase “faithful slave” sounds more natural to me, but I think JWs would also use the one word “slave”. They might also simply refer to the Governing Body, which is synonymous with the “faithful slave” in the current teaching.
Older JWs sometimes used the alternative “faithful steward” (from Luke’s gospel rather than Matthew), but I haven’t heard it in a long time. It was in one of the old songs: “there is a faithful steward, and his active force”, or something like that.

Christians particularly in the orthodox tradition believe that 2 Peter 1:4 teaches that humans will become divine in some sense.
2 Pet 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

See John 5:26; 6:53, 57.
God has life in himself and causes Jesus to have life in himself, who in turn causes those who partake of his flesh and blood to have life in themselves.

Not to say it’s true in every case, but I’ve only ever encountered the term “self care” from the most narcissistic and selfish people I’ve had the misfortune of coming across. In itself it wouldn’t be a bad idea but such people never seem to balance it out with other concepts such as empathy, obligation and diligence.

The Times of Restoration of All Things
by no-zombie ini thought of something during last weekend's wt study article, that made me think that perhaps we are on the wrong track on how the governing body is going to handle the whole 607-1914 thing.in paragraph 9 it referred to the the messianic kingdom rule as a period as called 'times of restoration of all things' taken from acts 3:21. this period of 'restoration', started in 1914 with jesus becoming king in heaven, and led to pure worship being restored 'soon after that'.and it was the last comment, that got me going.you see, in previous wt study articles (and i went through the 1990-2024 references) this term of 'times of restoration' was applied rather generally and more like a description of what jesus and jehovah was going to do during the messianic rule, rather than a formal title and a fulfillment of prophesy.however, what if the governing body keeps 1914 as jesus' invisible crowning ... but dumps 1918 as the date for the beginning of true worship?
firstly this paragraph reinforces the previously announced removal of russell being a part of the slave class, for obvious reasons.
but if 'true worship' had a soft start around the 1920s and making that the elastic part, then the embarrassment of his teachings and maybe even rutherford's, all of it could be excused as the speech of john the baptist.

Acts 3:21 is a key text in Mormon eschatology referring to the restoration of the true church from Joseph Smith on.

Watchtower applies the timeframe of restoration from 1914 through to the end of the millennium.

Prediction: no more changes for a long while
by slimboyfat ini’ve noticed a pattern where things don’t go the way i expect them to go and/or whenever i realise there is a trend and, i mentally adjust for the idea that the trend will continue, the trend stops in its tracks.
so on that basis, and given many people, including myself, and active jws, have been asking ‘what changes will the governing body make next?’ perhaps the (disappointing) answer is: ‘nothing much for a while to come’.
maybe they’ve made the changes they want for now, and will wait a while and see how it’s received.

I’m not surprised if the stipulated congregation donation has dampened donations overall. If people think that the costs are covered by the congregation donation then of course they’re going to stop contributing individually on top of that. Plus if you stop handing out practically any books or magazines at the Kingdom Hall then people start wondering what it is exactly they are paying for - a few online videos and to keep bethels open, for what? The whole point of branches used to be to produce and distribute they literature. If they are reduced to a few offices and filming studios then why should they cost so much?
