  I can’t imagine any scenario where Tony Morris isn’t devastated to the off the GB. The small consolations you mention are nothing to a true believer, which I think Morris is, or was. Plus haven’t you heard the memo that beards are allowed? GB members have got them. Some even speculated Morris opposed this and other changes before he left.

  the war in the ukraine has been going on for 2+ years now, yet very little has been put forth by the org on how the witnesses are doing there.

  especially of interest would be just how the org has implemented their relatively new 'alternative service is ok' policy in lieu of real military service in a place where warfare is actually occurring.

  yet nothing is forthcoming from the gb on this matter, or any other issues, really.. does anyone know what's been going on the regarding the witnesses there?.

  What to make of this document that seems to want to emphasise JW struggles in Russia contrasted with acceptance in Ukraine, but at the same time asks JWs to clarify “neutrality” in this context and even invites them to “interfaith” dialogue.

  Scholars note that in recent years, Witnesses are willing to respond to complex questions of our reality that have not yet been answered in full and conceptual form. These include:
  Jehovah's Witnesses and national issues,
  Jehovah's Witnesses and the current civil government, Jehovah's Witnesses and the Russian-Ukrainian war, and Jehovah's Witnesses and interreligious dialogue,
  The authors would like to hear a clearer Witness voice in our society on these issues, that is, declared neutrality in secular affairs, a certain policy of distancing, which no longer works today. Because we live in the same place, we are all citizens of the same country, and we cannot be neutral in our daily lives, and this has already become a matter of our daily lives.
  We look forward to the Witnesses joining interfaith or international interfaith associations and movements. These are excellent platform that can be used to assert their values, to convince them that Witnesses have the same right to exist in the religious space of other states, to be treated not as harmful or destructive sect members, but as full members of the Ukrainian or any other place. We are in favor of the Witnesses becoming more actively involved in the dialogue of religions, both in the world and in Ukraine.

  Not a scandal but it is interesting that Watchtower is sending millions of pounds from the UK to the US at the same time as selling lots of KHs in the UK and telling Witnesses they need to travel further to the next KH. This is when those same Witnesses have paid a lot of money to build their local KH in the first place only to see it sold off. Witnesses in the UK have been told there is a greater need for KHs in Africa, which many Witnesses may be prepared to accept as an explanation why their local KH had to be sold, but is that where the money is really going? Or is it going the US to pay legal and administrative bills?

  Arguably this whole thing blew up because LE had zero sympathy for somebody who had expressed suicidal thoughts in response to his videos. He demands endless understanding for his own supposed feelings (I think they’re fake anyway) but displays absolutely zero compassion for anyone else, including his own wife and family. Narcissists use the threat of suicide, as LE did with his wife, but they very, very rarely act on it. They’re among the least likely to do so because they never blame themselves for their actions and always believe in their ability to outsmart and get the upper hand. Unless there is literally no way out, like Hitler in the bunker scenario, then suicide is just not an option he will consider because a narcissist will always have confidence they can reverse whatever situation they are in and that everyone else is so stupid nobody can get in their way.

  how many of you bought a nice sedan, suv, or even a minivan back in the days that you described as your "armageddon car" that you would care for and it would last until the end arrived?.

  i was driving a 1974 plymouth volare wagon in 1992 when i managed to get an 8-year old buick century.

  it was low mileage and had a very luxurious interior.
