Considering that the Israelites actually invented themselves and maneuvered to create a legacy story of themselves as a people, dispite it's age, the artifact may have been contrived to sustain an image. That's just a subjective opinion. But like all of us must do, we need to wait for a conclusion by the real experts on the matter.

how can taking oaths of allegiance to the usa align with political neutrality?.
oath of allegiance to the united states of america.

Very, very interesting. Although, it would be a problem showing this to my still-JW siblings or any other JW without specific sources. The documents look legit. But it would be very easy for any of them to claim they were manufactured or photoshopped. Can you give a little bit of background on how and from where they ended up in your post? Thanks. Etude.
i'm surprised i only noticed this just now, deuteronomy 23:1:.
"no man who has been castrated by having his testicles crushed or who has had his male organ cut off may come...".
🤣.
In the 17th Century, castration became nefariously popular, starting in Italy. Boys were castrated between the ages of 7 and 9 years old, with the purpose of retaining their angelic vocal tones for the church choirs and never going through puberty. Of course, they mainly used boys of poor families who were compensated by the care and keeping of the boys while going through extensive vocal training. I'm not sure what a castrato vocal range encompases but, it does exist in men who have gone through puberty and speak with normal male tones, but sing in the castrato range. Once again, it takes religion to fuck up a life.
so, i saw dune (1984) yesterday.
i knew it wasn't gonna be great, but deary me.
i'm not gonna lie - this film is not good, in fact it's laughably bad in places.. first, i'd like to know the thought process that went behind choosing david lynch to write/direct.
Well, I call it a trilogy because it was Frank Herbert who wrote and completed the first 3 books. I could not get past the rest.
no one can steal your thunder when you are the fucking storm!
"With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil -- that takes religion." - Steven Weinberg.
"There is no sin except stupidity" - Oscar Wilde
"Le doute n'est pas une condition agréable, mais la certitude est absurde." - Voltair

Yes, the 1984 version missed the mark. But, I have to consider the times and how poor CGI technology was then. I mean, it was at the level of Pacman. We are now "light years" away from that type of production.
I had the good fortune of reading the trilogy years before seeing the movie. In a way, the movie managed to capture the feel of the book and some of the Reverend Mothers' nuances. But the story couldn't possibly have been told in that movie. It was too short. Without having read the books first, the movie left one confused and incomplete. The same thing applied to LOTR. There was a version back in the 70s that sucked. It had to wait until the present to have been made and made well enough.
Now, it looks like another attempt at the Dune tale will materialize into a movie to be released in a few days! The question is, will the movie be a trilogy like LOTR or another "one-shot" condensed version?
do jehovah's witnesses interpret the bible properly?.
jehovah's witnesses see the bible as an organizational book which only the faithful and discreet slave (currently 8 men headquartered in warwick new york) can interpret properly.
the faithful slave was first appointed in brooklyn in 1919 and given the exclusive right and ability to understand and teach the bible properly.
For me, the answer to the question is: certainly not. The problem is that they mistake one process for another. In their insistence on being precise about the Bible, they mistake an exegetical process for an eisegetical one. They believe that they are being neutrally precise in their interpretation when in reality they are interpreting via the tinted eyes of their subjective preconceived notions. They don't employ any Historical Criticism or generally accepted research methodology. Essentially, they make shit up.
their are millions of peoples all around the world who believe in one god or another christian and non christian.. all of them pray to their gods for this, that, and the other.
by far the majority never hear god answer them audibly ,however most assume he answers their prayers or not , by what transcribes next in their lives.. you pray for what is right according to god and he answers your prayers ,otherwise your prayers are not answered .. those few who who do claim to hear the voice of god audibly are usually found to have mental problems ,either physical or emotional.. if you do good you will be rewarded either now or in the hereafter , if you do bad you will feel the wrath of god and his judgments.
i equate this with superstitious beliefs ,what do you think ?.
Sure. The construct is a very simplistic and ancient way to explain what happens in life. For some, the alternative is too hard to bear, knowing we will die and that perhaps our life is for naught. Sometimes it gets complicated and tautological. But that is usually done by thinkers who confuse their need to be spiritual with the insistence that it takes a supreme being to achieve it.
