  getting my feet wet!

  hi all!!!!

  i've been apart of all your stories......been lurking here since 03. you all have helped me in many ways .....i feel like i'm stepping out of the little puddle and am looking at a big ocean....so it is sink or swim for my life back.....and by reading here i feel like i am safe.....though a bit scarey!

  i must be an old fart, but i gotta' a real problem with opc's or other peoples children.

  you know the kind you see in the supermarket runnin around like a buncha' wild indians, (no offense to any indians), but could you just smack dem' lil' suckers, or what?

  then, there's the one in the record department of the borders books, he's justa' flippin thru the cd's while listening to ludacris or some foolishness on the headphone listening station, be-boppin his head and just makin' a mess of all the cd's that happen to be in ma' peoples section.

  I spent 13 years working in a pediatric dental office.
  

  I spoke up quite often to those little angels.

  The 8 year old who peed on the toilet seat. (I was going in as he was coming out). 'Get back in there. Clean it up. Noone wants to sit in your pee.'

  The charming one who kept kicking the door because his brother was on the other side. ("I don't go to your house and try to break your things. Stop trying to break mine.")

  The kid who kept messing with stuff on my desk and interrupting my conversation with his mother. (I regret this one. I took my pen and whacked his hand. Told him 'that's enough'. Mother looked helpless and said nothing. I still can't believe I did that. REALLY can't believe she said nothing to me.)

  And if toys (airplanes and such) were flying around, there was a warning: 'If it lands on my desk, it's mine.'

  All in all we had great kids in the practice. Some just needed a little 'corrective advise'.

  From pediatrics, I went to prosthodontics (mostly people over 55). Some days I really missed the kids... They could have taught some of the adults how to behave...!

  i have managed to meet up with 3 ex w in houston tx and through the grapevine have heard there are at least 150 active in houston area .... any way you know of to start bringing those together.

  is there a message or post board that is primarily geographical in nature?

  I remember being taught that there would be another testing period at the end of the 1000 years. Those that passed that final test would receive the gift of 'everlasting life'. Not immortality. Immortality was granted only to those called to heaven. (Even the angels were not granted immortality, as I recall.)

  I think it was explained to me that perfection did not mean 'would not sin'. Rather it was ability to make perfect, knowing decisions. Not necessarily in line with Jehovah's purposes. Free-will would still exist.

  Then again, I could have foggy memmory (too much fear, obligation, and guilt to think clearly...!)

  Desperate Housewives.......

  i love this programme,.......we get loads of crap from the states, but when they make a good show....wow!!

  along with friends and simpsons.....this has got to be right up there with the classics!!!!.

  I love this show, and it's lead in Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. It has totally revived Sunday night television, in my opinion.

  when i became a witness in ventura, california in 1973. i was 15 years old and in the tenth grade.

  i was the only one in my family that was active though my mother, step father and my brothers thought the watchtower was the truth.

  my step father had been raised a witness while my family was not affiliated with any particular church.

  i was looking for something else and came across this old radio information pertaining to jws.

  wpow - 1330 am, new york

  jehovah's witnesses was one of the first religious organizations to enter the broadcasting field.. in 1923, the international bible students' association (as it was then called - the name 'jehovah's witnesses' waa adopted in 1931) bought the equipment of radio station wdt (see page 1) at stapleton, staten island, which the ship owners radio service was shutting down.. .

  I remember listening to the society's radio program on the radio in the early '70's.

  Early Sunday mornings. I think it was WNEW.

  I think it was about 15minutes of modern-day drama and then 15minutes of discussion or talk.

  i was published in 1967, it was released that summer at the district conventions.

  I found a copy but it's my Dad's being stored on my book shelf.

  Isn't this the book that was replaced by 'Organized to Accomplish our Ministry'?
