i am interested to know the statistics on how many people have left the borg because they have discovered their untruths or become disillusioned.. thanks,.

Successfully faded. I stopped attending meetings regularly over 15 years ago.
I stayed in depressed state because I believed that somehow they still had the 'truth' but it was just a little warped and needed to be cleaned up a bit.
I didn't date and didn't celebrate holidays for a long time.
Dating came first. Started celebrating some holidays with new boyfriend about 3 years ago.
Know that I've finally learned the truth about the truth, I will never, ever go back.
flat stanley seems to be lost.
rhys hasn't recieved a postcard from him in weeks now...last one was from joy in florida.
i know we had a poster in alaska who sent a card, but so far, it hasn't arrived.. last i heard, he was en route to california.
Flat Stanley has been having so much fun in the sun. The weather has been mostly perfect during his visit here and he's ready to move on.
Anyone up for a quick visit before he starts heading for home??

Yes, she was disfellowshipped recently for throwing herself continuously at a certain young brother until she made him fornicate with her. Good thing that he was disfellowshipped also.
Sorry. A 14 year old child facing a life-time sentence of exile from her family - That is just plain criminal. It's child endangerment. It's abominable behaviour.
It's criminal negligence. It's parents walking away from their children when they need them most.
I remember when I was a teen, parents would talk about encouraging their children to get baptized so it would take pressure off the parents. The kids would then become the elders 'problem'. The parents who push their children into pre-/teenage baptism, in my opinion, are mostly trying to get out of their own god-given responsibilities.
I am horrified that I ever went along with it at all.
The longer I'm out the more upset I become with this action.

I'm confused, though...:
I've been to lots of congregations as my dad was in the army until about a year ago. I've also lived in Ottawa and North Bay in Ontario and spent a few years in Kamloops, BC.I grew up as a witness but when my family moved to Calgary my dad stopped attending meetings so I saw it as a way out.
Are you saying that your dad was a witness at the same time he was in the military?? How is that possible?

My parents wouldn't let us eat fortune cookies because the demonized by spiritism, UNTIL... a visit with the circuit overseer. CO and his wife stayed with us and my parents took us all out for chinese. End of the meal, the cookies are served. FIRST one to grab one was the CO, "Oh Good!! I just love these!!"
After that, we were allowed to have those demonized treats.
But not the Devil Dogs.
Deviled Eggs were OK as long as we called them 'stuffed eggs'

as i was headed home the other day, it occurred to me that it was my jw neighbor's birthday.
i remembered this as i realized that she would be at my home in about 20 minutes so that i could help her with something.
so, i quickly stopped at a store and got her a gift, and had it gift-wrapped.

in response, i listed four lies that the society has made, three of which are easily investigated and proven to be lies.
1) the cover story that beth-sarim was built to house resurrected old testament saints who were coming back in 1925, when in fact, the house was built to get rutherford away from bethel.
Don't they still say that Jerusalem was destroyed in 607 BCE??
