It would almost seem plausible that they would change that 'light' when considering the change in 'generation'.
As the generation that saw 1914 starts dying after wasting decades working as slaves for the publishing company, others probably start thinking "hmmmmm. Maybe shouldn't have spent so much effort on that lost cause. Those people died before Armageddon and automatically gain access to the New System."
If Armageddon is pushed ahead into the future and people begin to realize that they, too, may actually die before the promised new earth arrives, they may slow down in the preaching work and stop putting kingdom interests first and actually consider having a semblance of normal life.
Then what will happen to the organization???
They almost have to change that doctrine about guaranteed resurrection.

For some reason this comment actually made me laugh out loud:

I completely understand your annoyance and for some reason - i think the 'nutcase' comment - made me laugh. (Thanks!)
If your 'visitor' is showing up early in the morning (before 9:30) then I suspect he is padding his hours but dropping magazines off on his way to the meeting for field service. It's a trick full-time Watchtower preachers use to increase the number of hours that they report at the end of the month.
The people in his car group are probably happy wait while he struggles up your stairs because they are all 'counting time' while sitting in the car chatting amongst themselves.
Thanks for posting. Other comments here brought me back to a time in my life that seems so very, very far away. I hope to hear from you again. Poke around a bit. There's some interesting - and just plain fun! - stuff on this site.

Family tragedy.........HappyDad
by HappyDad ingot a phone call from my daughter who lives in florida a couple of hours ago.
her significant other who i chose to call my son-in-law (because he is the best thing to ever happen to her) got a phone call that his 6 year old daughter was killed in an auto accident near lake placid, florida and his 5 year old son is in very critical condition.
the ex wife is also critical.

I'm trying to put names together.
I never met this 'Brother Sinutko' but either his brother or nephew (I forget which) had been in my old congregation. His wife still attended but he was seriously inactive to the point of being 'shunned'. I went to his restaurant/store once or twice but considered him very bad association because he sold Lottery Tickets.
My guess is that 'Live till 75 Sinutko' is aware of many skeletons in WTS closet but, like many many others, choses to look past them.
Another memory from my old cong: I was working on a talk with an older sister and during the course of casual conversation mentioned something about the 'new system'. Her response unnerved me: "You don't really still believe that, do you???"
WTF? She was an active publisher and a 2nd or 3rd generation witness. Odd comment. Last I've heard from her, she's still in.

What would happen if the wife of a GB member went a PoSt AtE?
