The general public, I really don't think, really give a damn if some stupid JW refuses blood, or gets kicked out of the church.
They care when it's a child being refused blood.
-Aude.
if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!

Remember that the decision a Jehovahs Witness makes to refuse medical treatment is a matter of personal conscience.
But is that decision based on accurate informed consent. Could it be proved that many have been mis-informed and then coerced to refuse?
Can't wait to hear the actual news. This is rather exciting!!
-Aude.
hey gang!.
sng here, reporting live in japan.
i've just returned from a three-day trip to kyoto, which must surely be one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Absolutely beautiful.
Very spiritual. I appreciated your commentary on the paths and doors. Those photos sure captured the mystere.
-Aude.
i came across this test of perception.
this is not a joke, nor one of those screaming videos which make your heart stop.
take the test... most likely 70-80% of you will answer incorrectly, showing your own likelihood of making mistakes.
I saw this on Dateline or some such news show about a year ago.
I counted so carefully and was amazed at the commentary afterward. I think I still have the show on tape somewhere in my collection.

Can't wait. Do I *have* to??
-Aude.
my faded ex-jw aunt had no idea the generation thing changed.
i was gonna give her the wt articles and stuff but wanted to also give her a scan of the newsweek article.. .
ithinkisee
I never knew of a Newsweek article on this subject...
Thought it was just a WT thing.
-Aude.
i was thinking about how one of the cult tactics come into play in such a simple action, like commenting at the meetings.
don't know if it was the same everywhere, but at our hall, sometimes the wt study conductor would call on a couple of people in sequence, the first would give thier comment, then brother "i get to carry the microphone" would run over to the other, just for them to say "he, she had my thought".
just that statement "they had my thought" says so much now.
I have an Idea, why don't we have a mock watchtower study this sunday? Just for fun
I'll participate only if AlmostAtheist (Dave) writes the study article -Aude.
i have been watching the page counts for the last 2 months.. jwd is close to have 5000 pages of posts.
as of this post we are still 11 pages away from the 5000 mark (4989).
i bet simon never expected this to grow the way it has or become the wonderful resource and gathering place of so many who need the support and understanding of those who need it.. from active jws to ex-jws to doubting jws to ubms of jws and even the curious as well as the odd student wanting to write a paper jwd has been a great place to learn, get and give support and connect with others.
what is JWD?
Jehovah's Witness Discussion forum. -Aude.
since i'm da'ing this week, i think i'd better make myself scarce around here.
my nerves are in a knot and i'm not in the most rational frame of mind to be posting in good judgement.
wish me luck!
We'll be thinking of you and waiting for your report.
Maybe plan a beer or cocktails with a friend or two afterward??
-Aude.
hey all,.
let's say you meet someone and they say that they are a jw, but they are having doubts about it.
they are doing some research and things just aren't adding up.
Hiya Nicky -
Welcome to JWD. Glad you posted your comment.
For those with doubts - Learn to trust your gut.
607 was a big deal for me. Also UN and Malawi/Mexico just floored me...!
The 'fear' of just ordering/touching the book Crisis of Conscience amazed me. That's just too much control to be a healthy organization.
Trust your gut and plan your exit.
