  i just received an email that said mj attended the memorial in solvang last night.

  he attended with his mom and dad and also his son.

  this info was forwarded to me via 2 others but i saw the original email so i think it's probably true.

  How can you just let go?

  my boyfriend (on/off 5yrs) has been in and out of this religion since we met 10yrs ago.

  right now, he is back on.

  it's hard for me to cope with his switching back and forth.

  I'm sorry you are in a tough position. I was an on-again, off-again witness for many years too. (not quite as off as your bf, but...!)

  My life is so much happier and saner since firmly leaving. Understanding the reality behind core doctrinal and judicial decisions in the organization helped me to see that it was not a way of life that truly brought me inner contentment and hope for the future. I am so happy to be out and will never return there.

  I do not really have any relationship advice for you but wanted to say 'hello' and welcome to JWD.

  I'm sure others will have plenty to share with you.

  There have been so soo SOOO many threads started like yours that someone will probably provide you with a link.

  In the meantime, you may want to look in the 'Best of' section. I think there is a collection of threads dealing with 'relationships'.

  Personally, I believe that it highly possible. Even very likely that he would attend.

  Many here have been coaxed into attending when their parents visit. (Especially when going thru difficult times - reagardless of what you may or may not have done to bring on those difficult times.)

  I don't know that it would necessarily be that newsworthy to the general public. Many celebrities attend religious service and I would expect that there would be a little privacy granted for that 'sacred' time.

  Doesn't surpirse me at all.

  I could believe that he and his family attended together. Makes sense to me.

  Hey... We're home!

  i took evelyne a copy of everyones wonderful thoughts... she cried more than once.

  so, she saw the specialist just after lunch time.

  it looks like, after 3 liters of iv, she has gone from 4.7 to 14!

  I had to stop and sit up straight to read that 'infectious disease' section. WOW.....

  I couldn't find the questions on what happens if/when you decide that you no longer choose to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

  Or what are the consequenses of failing to live up to the long list of rules.

  Which questions were those??

  i went to the kingdom hall for the very last time.

  i went in the door in my guns n roses t-shirt and ripped up lucky jeans, new earrings and goatee.

  i went up to the po of the congregation and told him i needed to talk to him.

For you self- righteous hypocrites to label me as such, shows your arrogance and ignorance. My dreams are now my own, and I intend to follow them without your religion holding me back.

  He read it, eyes got big and he simply turned around and walked away. The most self-empowering moment of my life.

  Very rude. Coward. He could have found even a half dozen words - 'Sorry you feel that way' - and let you go. He exited like a spoiled brat.

  I was at his hall the night he was publically reproved (shortly after 'Thriller' was released).

  He absolutely was an active witness (unbaptized publisher, I guess)

  Little bit later, as Randy said, there was a hush-hush agreement that he no longer considered himself a witness and the congregation just left him alone. Mother and at least one sister (Rebbie) remained fully active.

  I would imagine that with all this negative press and accusation that he will take comfort from whoever will offer it. Mother is JW so he will wear the JW title if it brings him comfort and understanding.

  So sad on so very many levels.
