ATTENTION District Convention Attendees!
by RichieRich inat some convention sites, there will be protests by apostates.
at other conventions, apostates will covertly slip in and leave messages on cars.
however, not everyone has the fortitude to protest nor the time.

The KH and people in it make me so hateful
by tsunami_rid3r inso the brother who was suppose to do sound had to read the watchtower that morning so i had to do it b/c no one else who knew how to showed up.
so there i was sitting through this boring talk that talked about entertaiment or something and i heard it all before so i started reading this watchtower that was laying on the sound system.
then brother elder walked by and told my dad i was sleeping, and another brother elder walked by and told my dad i was sleeping.

Aren't you baptized?
What happened to Matthew 5 and Matthew 18 (I think those are the chapters)
If you are a baptized male, the elders should be speaking to you directly. They are just being contentious if they insist on tattling.
Might consider saying something privately to each of them to the effect of:
"I heard you were concerned about my attentiveness on Sunday. I would like to take a moment to discuss this matter with you. Is now a good time? Please join me in the back room."
then
"First of all, I will admit that I was distracted with this REALLY interesting article in the Watchtower and am very sorry if I caused you to miss out on the information being presented from the platform.
Secondly, I am extremely disappointed that you did not come to me first. I would really prefer that you come to me first if there is something that I am doing that causes you concern. I have found that Jesus counsel to speak to your brother - in this case, that would be 'me' - before involving others. It's really the more grownup and loving way to be. Wouldn't you agree, Brother Edler?"
UGGHHH
Sorry!! I remember those days. Hang in there. Maybe an expresso before the next meeting will help?????

Do you have family members or friends in the "truth" who still.............
by ButtLight intreat you as they use to ?
im df'd and i have a family member who will still go to the bar with me, come to my house and hang out with me, but in certain situations, he wont because the witnesses may may see.
places like restaurants where the witnesses frequently go, it wont happen.

** it is just a little hypocritical to me that the only reason they wont do it in public is because someone may see them.**

A friend at work was selling Beta Fish. (Japanese Fighting Fish - in a jar with plant on top.)
I ended up naming them:
Sushi
Wasabi
Ebbi
Ahi
Another was named by different co-worker:
Moo Shu Pork (because not everyone likes japanese food)
Then there was:
Oscar (as in de la Hoya)
Wanda
'nother fish called Wanda
Jake
I gave one to my brother. they named it:
Henry the Fish (after Henry V)

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
I like the cake idea. I can certainly do that. And a card.
I often treat him to dinner so that's nothing special. Still a possibility.
Any other gift ideas?
What do you all get your siblings and kids for their birthdays??

He was 'born' in the truth, never baptized and pretty much left when he was 15. Very little contact with parents and has felt conflicted about all things religious. Couple of years ago he started studying with an older brother in the are but that fizzled out (I don't know why).
He is very into music (Plays Saxophone and Drums and a little guitar).
He has a few groups of friends so will have something to do, i'm sure. I just wanted to do something fun for him myself. It will be his FIRST EVER birthday something from a relative. Even our worldly grandparents were trained not to give presents by the time he was born.
Any ideas? Anyone?

Any ideas for something fun to surprise him??
Thanks in advance for suggestions.

back again for a visit
by czarofmischief injust thought i'd pop in and let you guys know what i'm to - not to brag (ok, a little), but i think sharing our success stories is an important part of everyone's rehab.. let's see - i (and my writing partner) had three short plays produced here in the "burgh"... it was poorly attended, but i had fun and the czarina was proud of me!
so that's all i need.. i've also gotten a job stringing for one of "america's great newspapers" so at least it's an in for the profession i went to school for.. and my main employer actually offered me a significant raise and full benefits (a huge deal here in the states), a nice change from my temp status.. the baby is still incoming; pictures will of course be posted.
but she's already the most beautiful girl in the world and i'm sure she will be a worthy heiress to the glorious faux-leather throne from which i type this statement.. i've successfully made it one year without any mood medication.
