Hi and Welcome!
I know you will find so many of us who can truly relate to your past and current feelings.
I was 'in the truth' from age 10 until about my early-to-mid 30's. I feel a part of this community even though I'm not so 'chatty' here.
It's a great place to explore, express, contemplate and observe.
In the org I really found that by spending so much time and energy 'showing' the depth of my spirituality, I was actually killing it - literally - hour by hour. I found that the more I tried to show, the less was really there. (Did I say that right?? I hope that makes sense.)
Seeing how much more attention was placed on demonstrating our love and commitment rather than true feelings and real, honest, sincere heart-felt actions made me look more closely at other fascades within the cong. I was dying inside a little more each hour of every day. I thought something was wrong with me and the more I did, the less worthy I felt.
I have been inactive since probably 1990 or so but still behaved and, for the most part, believed as a JW. This site helped me sort out reality from fantasy.
Again, let me say 'welcome'. BTW, this was a real nice intro post from you.

I got "Downsized"
by CoonDawg inwell, thanks to this booming economy....and gw's crappy budget cuts...i was informed today that i could stay on part time...or pursue other opportunities.
this bites the big one!.
however....i immediately got an interview with another company.

Sorry to hear about this. I would imagine it's a bit of a shock to the system.
I truly hope things go well with the other company and, hey, take a few people with you... You might be doing everyone a favor!!

I haven't seen Brummie's little face around for several months but would sure like to know that he is OK.
LT made a comment on another thread right before he left to catch a boat to E-man's. That was, of course, before the blasts.

jeeeez they gave me a part 4 talk

so i think this is talking about why the people in the greek scriptures couldnt do their neighbors wife, or you couldnt kill your neighbor even though the 10 commandments wasnt there.
how many bible scriptures should i use?

What really bothers me about my JW research.
by ithinkisee insome of you may know, but i have been on a serious journey through watchtower "theology", and by association, have gone back all through the history of christianity.
i know many on this list have gone thru the same thing.
i have checked out probably 100 archeological, religious, and history books from the library.

It's more infuriating when you realize that the entire premise is a lie.
While believing that we would eventually live forever in a paradise on earth, that initial death was seen to be 'temporary'. The R&F (certainly 'me') patiently accepted the changing light and the over-zealous confines imposed on us/me.
Learning the truth about 'the truth' makes those senseless deaths heinous.
I miss my grandma and grandpa.....
