  Are you Christmas-retarted?

  hi guys, haven't posted in a while, but i don't see this topic covered: is anyone else out there as christmas retarted as me?

  i feel so awkward stumbling over the words "merry christmas" to friends.

  also, who do you buy for?

  A few years back I was given a unique gift at work. Someone made up a BUNCH of containers of cookie ingredients in a cute, seasonal jar and attached the directions with ribbon. All the dry ingredients were pre-mixed and pre-measured.

  If you make up a bunch of something like that, keep a few in your car and on your kitchen counter, slap a bow on top of each and you are ready to join in the festivities.

  Of course, you can still join in even if you don't reciprocate. But it is funner to get into the 'giving' mode.

  Do you know where the first person you had sex with, lives now?

  i was actually baptized in my early 20's, so i spent some time as a teen and early twenties doing things that were not witness-like.

  one of those things was sex out of marriage and to be honest, i have no regrets.

  i have wondered though sometimes, where is that person i shared such a landmark moment with in life.

  Yes.

  In fact, last week I sent him a holiday card. One of the 5 that I sent. (This is my first year sending cards and first year decorating a little. My selected relatives will be VERY suprised as well.)

  did you hate them as much as i did?

  i always tried so hard in school to make sure that no one saw it.

  it tries so hard to be unobtrusive on the front, but how embarassing in high school if people think you have some kind of "lost child" card on you.

  Brand New Blood Card

  hubby has just come back from the service meeting where they have been handed out brand new style blood cards, now called 'advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment' .

  it's quite a bit different.

  and has the line on it about giving permission to the hospital liason committee to see your notes and medical records.. very scary stuff i think, and i certainly wont be filling one in.. i'm really short of time tonight, but will scan it in, along with the notes that go with it and try and post it some time over the next day or so if someone else doesn't beat me to it!.

  I suggest you check on your records after a month or so. Imagine *MY* horror when I went back into the hospital for tests 3 months after discharge to see the 'JEH' indication for religion back on my information sheet after all my efforts in July/August of this year.

  Add to the fact that his ex-wife studied with the witnesses for a few years (in the mid 70's) and is still in contact with many of them.

  how about all the crosses and pagan symbols in the magazines.

  they print and distribute these images to millions.

  Someone was telling me a story of a particular shot in which one of the kids was smoking. They said it was really, really odd to have that pack of cigarettes lying on the table in one of the societies buildings.
