I also love they quote old Watchtower magazines as their references.
Seriously, isn't the first rule of journalism to have outside sources and references to back up your story? You can't QUOTE YOURSELF, that isn't right.
sorry about the double post, i had problems with the computer....

I love in the Watchtower about DF'd persons it quotes a scripture then says "THIS MEANS" and they give specific instructions.
Why not let the reader figure out what it means????
How many times has your significant other said something to you, then you look at him/her in horror and they say "that's not what I meant, this is what I meant" ... I love the Watchtower gladly tells us what the Bible MEANS when they didn't even freaking write it.
jehovah's witnesses are a nosy bunch.
they watch to see if anyone might be offending another person's conscience.
they listen for any negative comments that could bring "reproach on jehovah's name".
I used to be flabbergasted and would spread gossip when I was "in" but I also was a teenager and that was the thing to do. It made us feel superior because we hadn't "screwed" up like these other people did.
I actually shudder to think of the things that JW's had privy to. I swear they might as well carry GPS and have hidden cameras, they love to get into every aspect of your life.
ok. i'm almost finished with c.c.
really good published evidence against the gb.
i don't think i will become an atheist as many have but where do i go now.
I do believe that the Creator meant for us to live happy lives. He/She puts a lot of enjoyable things on this planet and if it comes down to, enjoying life, being a good person, helping others, enjoying frienships, being a good neighbor, practising the "golden rule" then maybe that is all the religion I need.
I no longer search for any organized "truth" I do believe I am living my own truth. Life is mean to be lived. You and I are meant to be happy. Find contentment, pray when you want to, and listen to your heart.
I have never wanted to join another church or religion. I think me and the Universe and the creator have a fine relationship.
i have been seriously thinking that jw's and born-again christians have both been victims of the armaggeddon/rapture merry go round.
christians have been looking for the rapture for 2000 years and still nothing has happened.
jw's have been looking for armaggeddon for over 130 years now and still nothing has happened.
as long as there are people out there wanting someone to tell them lies, they will exist.
Once people all refuse to believe in it, it will all die off.
Just like the idea that the earth was square and you could fall off, people now realize it's round.
i am a bit fuzzy, but i always remembered that the "faithful and discreet slave" were the annointed members of the governing body and that they were led by jehovah god.... of course according to the wts.. now, as they get older and other wts corporations have been formed and the president of the wts himself isn't of the "annointed" then what happens when the "annointed" governing body members who represent the "faithful and discreet slave" die off?.
where is the intermediatary between the regular jw's and jehovah?
what will happen to the light that kept getting brighter?
maybe they will start botox and anti aging treatments and live on forever.
do you think jehovah?s witnesses act differently in parts of the country or world other then your own?
witnesses claim that one congregation is just like another, sort of like mcdonalds.
however in my experience this does not seem to be true.
I remember a group of about 5 girls that were all surfers here in Florida got together in Cape Hatteras NC every year with a group of about 5 - 6 male bethelites.
It was weird, everyone always gossiped about the fact the single girls would meet up with the single "brothers" from Bethel for a surfing weekend but I don't think they did anything but surf and camp and hang out. I never thought it was wrong, but it was kinda looked down upon by the older ones of the congregation who thought it was inappropriate, but the elders never did anything about it.

Actually it's a top hat of bridalshowerness. But that is righteous too.
i stumbled accross this ancient booklet "neutrality of jehovah's witnesses" which is a re print of the watchtower november 1st 1939 .
note the rhetorical question at the top of the page , and the answer given at the foot of page 22 and over to 23 .
that statement shocked me !
Well if you believed that the JW religion had the FALSE religion and you had the right religion and they didn't believe you, then you could actually say the JW relatives were non-believers in the "faith" and use their very own book against them.
i typed "ray franz" into my wt cd library.
this is what was in the kingdom ministry of august, 1980:.
announcements.
Acutally my local Barnes and Noble bookstore had it in stock... but in spanish. I told the girl I needed english, so she had to order it. It was hilarious. I live in Florida and in a predominately english area, not south florida where there are more spanish speaking people... but they had the book in spanish. hhahaaaa
