good for you. I hope that being DF'd doesn't ruin your life... but it's freeing in a lot of ways, you can be who you want to be without all the bullcrap pretense.

.....and i'm out....
by red so deep inwell, after a 4.5 hour long judicial meeting with my local elders i found out i'll be df'ed here in about a week and a half.
i don't think it was so much my offense (smoking ciggs and weed) but my attitude.
the elders were trying to draw out some repentance, but i was pretty straightforward about the politics and hypocrisy in the org, especially in the case of the neighboring congregations elder body, who seem to be on a witch hunt for me and my friends....when one of the elders asked my how i felt my actions affected jehovah, i brought out that example in the old testament where the boys were making fun of the bald priest or prophet, then he got pissed and called down evil on them *in the name of jehovah* and the she-bears devoured the poor kids.

What do you Find Encouraging?
by Golf init's refreshing and encouraging to meet polite people.
people holding doors for others, people saying thank you and please.
people who return their shopping carts in the stalls.

Ya know I thought all "worldly" people were going to be crazy, immoral, etc.... Instead I have found the opposite. As long as you're not hanging out in crack town, you find most people are wonderful.
I love the cards, I have lots of friends that are into cards and when I receive B-day cards I get so happy... it makes me feel good that someone remembered me. That is being thoughtful.

To what extent do the elders keep information on us?
by JH ini remember a few years ago, i changed congregation, so the elders told me that they had to send my folder to the other congregation.
when i was baptized, i don't remeber them telling me they kept information on me, and that they would pass it around to other congregations if ever i moved.. i wonder what kind of information is kept in these folders.
probably everyone in the congregation has his hours listed and the privileges they had written in it, but maybe there is alot more written that we don't even know about.

and the elders ask their wives all the time for any other kinds of information. Found that out pretty damn quick. Our old PO had the "busiest" wife I think possible... in everyone's business.

Manpower problems at Bethel reason behind delay in annual report
by truthseeker ini was talking to a ministerial servant last week, and he said that a bethel elder told him the reason why the 2004 annual service report was .
delayed, was because of man power problems.
they simply don't have enough staff at the us branch, because the annual report is already .

Do you all remember though if someone did make it and went to Bethel, how the people from the local congregation were supposed to feel like it was a "priveledge" to send them care packages... much as people sent soliders stuff because they are fighting for freedom... but our congregation had 1 young guy go for about 4 years and we were always asked to send him things like socks, deoderant, clothes, new tennis shoes, etc... because of course he didn't have any money. I remember thinking (when I was about 13 ) that it must be the holiest place on earth... kind of in awe.
Anyways, that guy left after about 4 years. He previously had worked at McDonalds... so his 4 years, unlike spending 4 years at college, didn't do much for his resume. Last I knew he was cutting grass for a living, he married another JW and they were driinge a 20 year old station wagon around.
IF he had spent 4 years at college, can you imagine, his life would be so much different.

Well, since every single message board is about chatting and posting thoughts/feelings, or discussions on everything from cooking to dealing with diseases.. etc... it's about PEOPLE. If you happen to have been exposed to the JW faith, there is a lot to talk about. So the purpose I think in my brief week of being around is to allow people a place to come and vent, talk, and socialize while learning what other people's experiences and thoughts are.

by mkr32208 in.
do any of you have the matrix wish i could just forget all this attitude sometimes?
me and the wife were fightitng again and she asked why i can't just go back and pretend or just forget all this... she said as an athnostic you either don't belive in god or don't believe that god cares so why can't you just go and fake it... i was dumbfounded i ask her why can't you just get the f*ck out and stop faking it... she stormed out and i sat down here..... so i ask ya, if you could forget all the negatives about the wbts (i know thats a lot) and just go back like nothing had ever happened would you?

Put it to you this way. Would you leave a mate that refused to give you an orgasm or would you stay around and just fake it for the rest of your life? To me it's the same thing. hahahaa... I actually had that thought but didn't post it... but once you've actually been there and done that, there is no way you could return to a relationship like that. (shhhh, been there, done that, and thankfully ain't there no more! no wonder I was always b**tchy)

NO WAY. I would much rather go back to my birth, when I was perfectly innocent and forgo learning all their crap and have grown up without all the chit.
But would I live a half life? No way... it's like asking someone would you live blind and deaf if really it wasn't a physical handicap and all you had to do was remove the blindfold and ear plugs????
You are going through some major life changes, it's not easy. But someday when you're happy and dancing away and smiling it will all be worth it.

Let's all show up at the Memorial - and gasp - Partake!
by AK - Jeff inhere is a plan to throw the entire organization into chaos.
many of the 'apostates' here believe in the ransom of jesus - and the command to partake of the 'communion' of the lords evening meal, right?
i have come to accept that that 'memorial' is simply a recognition of jesus' sacrifice.

I always loved after the Memorial the elders would take the wine glasses out back and dump the wine out onto the lawn.
I was always like "5 minutes ago that was soooo holy, now it's just being dumped out" I didn't get it.
We had 1 "annointed" sister in our hall and she was really wacko and liberal and had son was DF'd and etc ... some people actually questioned that she really was from the annointed, my mother being one of them, thought that maybe she just imagined she was annointed, but of course along with the other questions, just brush that one under the rug.

a quiet moment on the beach
by teejay inthere was a commercial on tv tonight during a football game... .
a couple with their backs to the camera were sitting on a beach facing a crystal blue sea.
soft, tropical breezes blew, seabirds called to one another, gentle waves crashed onto a pristine golden shore.

In situations like those, my husband looks at me and says "She almost looks as good as you" and proceeds to kiss me. I know he's lying and sucking up, but I don't care. He loves me!
