  The Mother In Law Visit

  i have written here before about my mother in law causing problems in my marriage and how she has not been nice to me or my two beautiful children.. so my husband, who is the most kind and forgiving man on the planet wants to give his mother another chance.

  he tells me she is not going to be around much longer, at the most we only have 10-15 more years before she dies.

  ( i thought he was trying to make me happy when he said that and accidentally smiled....which made him peeved).

  Isn't it funny that parents of non-believing children most always will say "they do KNOW it's the truth" and keep thinking that their kids believe it and KNOW it, just that they don't do it.

  I'm proud of you... sounds like my mom. I never can understand how they can twist their minds around the lack of love towards family, but I guess thats why I rejected it and they haven't.

  For the records, my mom always gives ill-fitting or very "not my style" clothing presents too. She tends to give me a couple Goodwill dresses that come to my ankles every couple of years just in case I need something to wear to a meeting. LOL.

  Appeals against disfellowshiping - EVER gone in complainants favour??

  i hear a lot of talk about the watchtower's provision of allowing appeals of local elders' decisions to disfellowship fellow witnesses.

  but does anyone know if such appeals have ever gone in the complainant's favour?

  i very much doubt if anyone who has been disfellowshipped has ever successfully appealed the decision.

  I would like to know what the time frame is on appealing a disfellowshipping? Is it that week or could it be done years later?

  To fade or not to fade--Judicial question.

  i just got off the phone with one of the elders.

  they said that if i do go to the jc and ask them to help me understand why they believe certain stuff and then ask for a study i will probably not get df'd.

  i can "bow" down to them and do their little game if the results would help my family.. i love my family very much.

  Once they have called that JC and you are "there or not" that means that if you don't show up, you'll be DF'd.

  If you go in and bow down to them and say yes, everything is the truth, etc, you might not get DF'd but they will be riding your ass and checking on you just to make sure.

  If you go in question the organization, you can be DF'd on the spot for being an apostate.

  I would suggest lying through your teeth, or making up some ridiculous story of explanation, but there's no reason you need to ADMIT to anything that is going to get you DF'd.

  When is the best "time" to put in a "bttt" in active topics?

  i want to get the most showings on the current page of active topics.. is it when there's only 4 or 5 posts on a page, or half full, or almost full?

  Do ALL men cheat??

  i was watching an old eddie murphy hbo special a few weeks ago where he was talking about relationships.

  in his bit, he went off on how all men cheat on their wives and girlfriends.

  he was adamant that even the nicest of guys will take the opportunity to cheat if given the chance and that women need to understand that this is the way it is, 100% of the time.

  NO. I've never had a man cheat on me and I would never believe that my husband would cheat on me.

  I saw that show with Eddie Murphy, he also went on that all women say "What have you done for me lately?" all women aren't demanding and materlistic either. That was a comedy routine. He was young and single and wanted to be a player up there.

  It depends on who you date or marry... a player or a real genuine person.

  If you want a clear explanation of what the Bible says about the two different classes, you'll have to study the Watchtower.

  LOL, couldn't help myself, sorry.

  I never understood it either, also what about the faithful people that were born before Jesus came down from heaven... it doesn't make sense to me.

  i get the impression that a lot of the industrial countries really dont give a sh*t. recently there seems to be a lot of people saying man has nothing to do with it.

  or, that its really not that bad.

  govenrnments dont seem to care too greatly either, i'm thinking of australia and the usa at the moment.

  I believe that the earth has it's own cycles... the ice age, the warm age, maybe go back to another ice age, but it's not based on 100 year old temperatures... it might be on a 5,000 year cycle. I don't think with the small sampling they can say one way or the other.

  Also, I do believe that cow poop produces more toxic gases than all our cars. So, why not get rid of all the cows? The fact is, the cows were put in nature with their terrible gas-y poop, why????

  Self love

  is there anyone out there who remembers being taught by the wt that love of the self was sinful?

  if so will you please point me to a piece of literature which contains that teaching, preferably a scan if possible.

  i have a vague memory of hearing something along those lines as a child and don't know if it was part of jw teaching or just something my family taught us.

  anyone have experience selling on ebay?.

  i recently started learning about it and bought a brand new total gym (the infomercial by chuck norris and christy brinkley).

  it sells for $1,495.00 if you call the infomercial number.
