I am not confused.. but think about it. Like when i posted my question. what sports are ok with jehovah. I got alot of responses from people that hate the truth. If you not a withness anymore you dont have any obligations to it. you are free to do what you want. why post in witness forums? I think you guys are all cool, but i'm just askin... not trying to disrespect anyone. seems like you guys are still attacted. like the the borg. One mind One body but as soon as you leave the you feel lonely.. i don't know explain cause if was disfellowshiped or left i would be playing yahoo games, and hookin up. please explain.

JW's view on patriotism

my sister is a jw .

i studied with the witnesses at the same time as she but i questioned too many of thier belkifs that didn't make sence to me so they gave up on me.. my christian church does allow patriotism.

we feel god gave us this land( america) and are forever grateful to him.

Yea i'm gonna stick around. I like the forum.

I saw a comment about passing the guard into a better position. Yes a choke and a hyperextention is used. But once you get your someone in that position he taps and you let it go. It never goes beyond friendly comp. the chokes never go beyond that. If someone has me in an armbar.. I know i'm going to tap right away. I've never been hurt by someone else. Just my own mistakes but I like the advice.

Well again.. I don't think some of you didn't read what I said.. but i'm glad you guys get to make arguments and talk about them.

like I said Bjj doesn't have any "Ki's" or "Zen". The old ways of jiu jitsu were not adapted by the brazilian. There is not strikes in brazilian jiu jitsu. even though it came from the old traditional Jiu Jitsu, Japanese Culture and Brazilian Culture isn't the same. Yes it did have religious backgrounds but it's not practiced. It's all techniques, movements, angles, positions, etc...

I don't do it for self defense, i do it because it's fun work out.

Pepper spray.. I've used it before and it works but i dont recommend using it if the wind is blowing real hard. I shoots out in a thick stream, and the wind would have to be blowing hard for it to come back to you. Guns, knives i've used them but not anymore. not my thing anymore.

brad- I believe in jehovah and nothing will change that. As far as me learning. I have so much to learn.

Most religious orginizations like to pick and chose what is good for them and consider it "ok" because they are not doing wrong. but gods word is his word and nothing can change that. I most def know what's right and wrong and have all my life. I have never attacked jehovah or his orginization, I have never spoke about about any withness because he/she is a withness. I think lots of witness kids go back cause i guess this isn't for everybody. Being a witness is hard in a sense but simplifies because you have love for jehovah. I would never give anyone advice knowing that i'm in the mix you can say. I have worldly assosiations that i'm knee deep in you can say and one day I will get out. Sooner I hope. the more I learn the better for me. I'm still a bible student but I know better. Satan has used almost every method to keep me in the world. i wonder if jiu jitsu is one of them and i don't know yet. I had to ask this question cause I felt i was important.

the first post, I know there is some Jw's that are expelled and would try to throw me off.. The truth there is nothing that I haven't seen.

I've been stabbed, shot at, been in jail, lived on the streets. My family are all Jw's and I'm barely comin back to my sensess. I was born in the truth but I fell off at age of 8. I used to gang bang. So bad influence with words don't affect me or make me curious. thanks for the warning.

As far as Jiu Jitsu having a history of false religous and meditation. Yes you are right about that..

when the martial migrated to brazil. the tradiational moves and religious side of it never migrated. In BJJ we don't even bow to our teacher. and he is our instructor, not our sensi, or she-do-she, .. he's just like a homie... My teacher is mexican. he don't care about non of that.. just the techniques of jiu jitsu. It's like going to gym class.. lol

any comments?

I am a jiu jitsu student and have been for a 4 years. IT's more of a sport. Like wrestling (submission wrestling) I can easly us it to

defend myself on the street if i ever needed to but it's more of a sport.

Brazilian Jiu Jitus is the main martial art used in the ultimate fighting championships, but in that comp, strikes are added.

Jiu Jitsu by itself has not punches or strikes just submissions and winner taps. Is that bad? I love the sport and don't want to give it up.

CAn someone give me an opinion?
