Maldanodos (Mexican cuisine). Unfortunately, it's the only decent place to eat in my little tourist town. I'd probaby just take you 20 miles to the closest town that has decent food.

If I were to visit your town for the first time..
by doodle-v inwhat food places would you reccomend?
if im in a new town, i like going to eat at places that locals go to that most like likely are not in all the tourists guides, if possible.
if you were to come to my town, i'd probably take you to eat at dick's drive in (best burgers imo) and if you were in the mood for something fancy, maybe el gauchos (best steakhouse imo) and terrific atmosphere... how bout you?

Guilty Fast Food Pleasures
by Swan inokay, what is the one fast food that you just love, but are a little ashamed to admit to?.
a detective character (sue grafton's kinsey milhone) in some mysteries i read has these guilty fast food pleasures.
just about every day she runs for miles on the beach, but then she is invariably ends up ducking into the mcdonald's drive thru with her little vw and scarfing a big mac or quarter pounder.

I can honestly say fast food in general just does not appeal to me anymore. I used to love it (Whopper!! and fries) but now it just makes me feel icky.

I had some weird experiences in a place I lived once. My "then" husband and I would leave and come home and the door would be ajar when we pulled back in the drive. It happened several times so we got where we would make absolute sure the door was locked when we left. Then when we would come home the windows would be open. One night we came home and the door was again open (and we knew it had been locked). When it was time for bed we turned off all the lights in the house except for in the bathroom, as a nightlight for the kids. Shortly after we were in bed the bathroom light starting blinking off and on. While the light was blinking the telephone rang. I picked it up and said the normal "hello" and the darned thing kept ringing while the light kept blinking on and off. It was really freaky. In that same house, one night when I was in bed, I almost got paralyzed from fear. I just felt there was something evil in the room with me. I just put it down to all the fears I had of demons from my upbringing in the JWs. Still don't know what it was...human...ghost...evil....faulty wiring. We didn't stay in that house and moved not long after this stuff was happening. Never had anything like that ever happen again.

Yes and no. I don't go around telling everyone I meet, but I do tell my closest friends. I also tell them I'm DFd. Nobody really seems to care except to be happy I'm out now. DFd at 17 I really was still a kid while being a JW. I only got baptised when I reached13 yrs of age because it was expected of me and I felt a great need to make others happy to feel like I belonged. I never really understood that much, except that it all scared me. I just memorized the answers the questions and the scriptures to support the answers.

I've had it....
by Country_Woman inyesterday evening my dog got an epileptic attack - peeing all over the tapestry and almost glueing at the floor with the foam at his mouth (it is very hard to remove).
after the attack he wanted to "walk" pacing up the room (and backyard) for a long time.. .
this night he was whining a lot - wanting outside... (which i allowed for at least 5 times - thus having not much sleep myself).

Who cares if the JWs are right?
by new light inthis is by no means an original idea, but even if the jws have been right all along, i don't care.
if pleasing god means not knowing what to think or feel without checking with headquarters first, then i don't need him.
who would want to be caught up in an eternal nightmare where the entire population was a braindead mass of clean-cut yes men?

I'm actually torn on this. On one hand if they right that means my children and I are most likely doomed, especially since I was DF'd. On the other hand I want it to be true for the rest of family. My mother and father, who have both died and believed it all and refused blood transfusion because of it, my brother is fighting to get re-instated, his whole life revolving around it, and my sister, whom the doctors don't feel will survive another 5 yrs of cancer, and is also depending on these beliefs. I don't really believe in God at this point though. The JW's had a big hand in that.

Obesity vs. Smoking - which is worse?
by Why Georgia in.
when i was going to the kingdumb hall people were being actively disfellowshipped for smoking because it was bad for you and an insult to jehovah.. how come nobody disfellowshipped the 400 pound sister who brought her own chair or stood in the back because she couldn't fit in her chair?.
why didn't anyone disfellowship the bookstudy leader for looking pregnant when he obviously wasn't.. why is cigarette addiction bad but not food addiction.. just wondering?

i had a dear sister tell me once she'd rather have cancer than be shaped like me. we'll call her Sister Beatch Godsgifttomankind
This sister sounds like an ignorant idiot. I've had several family members die of various cancerc and my sister fighting stage 4 ovarian cancer right now. My aunt died of lung cancer. My mother died of ovarian cancer. My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer and the list goes on and on. Cancer and it's chemotherapies is awful to go through and can be very, very, very painful.

Oh yeah, and as mentioned previously, the seizures can really disorient and tire a dog afterwards. It does apply to canines as well as humans.
