  talking about 1975 and the push by the society got me to looking at some older quotes.

  this one here really bugged me and still pisses me off when i read it.

  in this instance they are telling you to forget about jesus and listen to the society.

  lately i have been working on a letter to my parents to try and explain my life and what brought me to this point.

  i have been out for 20yrs now but jw beliefs were still always in my head and had an influence on my life up until now.

  never had a birthday party, never had a christmas celebration, and even refused blood transfusions twice (idiot!).

  My Mormon buddy

  i felt compelled to post this to kind of stick up for my buddy a little bit.

  i'm not sticking up for mormons....only sticking up for a friend that happens to be a mormon.

  some may say he is secretly trying to convert me, but he really is, just a friend that happens to be a mormon.. i am in no way endorsing mormons or have any desire to be one.

  another memorial idea...more effective

  rather than do something to physically disrupt it, why not do it on the sly.

  equipment needed: permanent felt tip marker, clear shelf paper from wally world, small pocket sized spray bottle with some rubbing alcohol.. go into the bathroom right before the service starts.

  spray a little alcohol into the back of the urinal to give it a quick clean so that the shelf paper sticks better.

  finally got around to ordering c.o.c and in search of christian freedom.

  they only had 5 paperbacks of c.o.c in stock.

  i bought all 5 and also 1 hardback.

  I just realized that some of you would know my parents in Dallas.

  my family moved there about 20 years ago.

  i don't know how many congregations there are, but judging from where they live i am assuming they go to the kh that is south of dallas off of 35e.

  i have never been there, and have only seen them a couple times in the last 20 years.. my dad is an elder...(99% sure), so i imagine anyone from that cong would have to know them.

  it's really encouraging to find such warm hearted people so willing to welcome a new guy.. all of your kind words have made a difference already.

  i have been reading hundreds of posts and i never imagined that there were so many others out there going through or have gone through the same thing.. i think you all are right about talking to my parents.
