A truly absurd situation is brewing ...
by LoveUniHateExams inyes, it's related to the world cup in qatar next year.. a recent un report has detailed some serious abuse of migrant workers by qatari authorities - we're talking some serious issues here:.
- a caste system with migrant workers treated differently on the basis of ethnicity.
- non-payment of wages.

I showed on of my JW (True Believers) that Kingdom Halls will be opening soon. He had a fit!
by pistolpete inso i showed one of my older uncles the link on jw.org.. https://www.jw.org/en/news/jw/region/global/the-governing-body-announces-that-some-in-person-meetings-will-resume-in-select-areas/.
keep in mind that this is one of the relatives that is a true believer and used every excuse you can think of for the cancellation of all kingdom hall meetings.
and he also used every scriptural argument you can make up to justify the end of the door to door ministry.

Mine were not happy at the prospect!
I reassured them with the thought that , given the terrible infection rates still prevalent in U.K., it will be a long time before it comes our way... ( we all hope. That’s apostate and true believers united)

Return to Kingdom Hall Meetings - Letter to Elder Bodies?
by JWTom ina couple of threads over on reddit that there is a letter to elders on restarting meetings.
i find this hard to believe and have not seen anything on this from our trusty sources on this site.

The U.K. is still deep in it according to latest news:
”The UK records a further 45,066 coronavirus cases on Thursday - a rise of 11% on the 40,701 cases recorded the previous week and the highest daily figure since 20 July. Meanwhile, case rates are currently rising in all age groups and regions in England.”
( Source, Sky News)
so I can’t see it happening in this part of the world yet. At least that isa silver lining to the dark clouds of Covid prevalence.

Superman and Captain America
by punkofnice ini see that marvel are introducing a gay captain america as dc announce the son of superman is bi-sexual.. whereas i don't give a hoot about a person's use of their genitalia as long as it is consensual and not with kids, i'm finding all this 'inclusivity' becoming a bit boring.. are dc and marvel just virtue signalling in the hopes of selling comics and not being set on fire by the antifa frauds?

Alan Feuebacher used to post here as AlanF. In my early days of board membership he was my role model. The finest intellect that I came across in the exJW world. I could not agree with him on everything but I respected him.
His account of a meeting with Bethel writer Harry Peloyan discussing why the Society felt free to misquote science writers is a classic. It might still be online somewhere.

Differences, on average, between men and women
by LoveUniHateExams inquite bizarrely, there are people trying their level best to blur the lines between man and woman, male and female.. so, i thought it a fairly good idea to list the differences, on average, between men and women.. ok, starting with the most obvious .... women have a vulva, a vagina, and internal gonads (ovaries); men have a penis and external gonads (testes).. women get pregnant, give birth and breastfeed their babies; men do none of those things.. men are taller than women.. men have greater upper-body strength than women.
men have greater bone density and percentage of muscle mass than women.. women live longer than men (this is partly due to life choices and behaviour and partly due to genetics).. men have higher testosterone levels than women.. men heal more quickly from physical injury than women.. the sexual dynamics between men and women tend to be different, too.
re sexual selection, women typically have their choice of the most suitable men.

I have just watched a I T V documentary “The Real Manhunt: The NightStalker “ This was screened over a week ago but is still available on Sky catchup. ( UK only I guess)
The interesting point for us was that after his arrest , one his neighbours says what a nice Man he seemed and “one of Jehovah’s Witnesses “
In fact he was apparently just associated and his wife was the dub, but it shows how he was viewed in the community.

This d/a thing would surely never stand up in court . If a claimant showed that he was being treated as a pariah by his former friends and family , and he had not wished to leave the faith. It could easily be demonstrated that Witnesses do not shun those who simply leave the faith. So it is d/f by another name.
I am interested in this statement that US hospitals hire JWs as "bloodless treatment managers" . Can we be specific about this? Examples?
It is something you don't see in the UK
NB .. if he is a HLC member...... talk about putting your JW training to material gain!
