They do report the number of studies. … Maybe that’s it… perhaps “the friends” haven’t got the hang of the new reporting system and they just haven’t reported them ? .

Update changes well received
by Gorb ina few weeks later, the witness that i speak, family and friends are very happy with the recent changes .. no one mentions the df aproach change, fieldservice report and free entrance to the paradise for non jw.. only the clothing style and beard are mentioned.. the sisters are all in a halaluja happy modes.
they are feeling being respected and heard by the lovely leadership.. one brother told me he will never grow a beard because he lost his elder status in the early 90's because of his beard.
now it's allowed i will not grow a beard he sweared.. it seems jw.org has down a great change job.

It is not exactly a free entrance. All that has been said is thad Jesus would hold judgment until the last moment, giving opportunity for more to make a last minute dash to the K.Hall and grovel to be let in . Is that what you would do?
But yes, beards and slacks are the big talking points, as though no one thought about important new beliefs.

Listener’s advice is quite right.. seek the correct medical and social help. For the congregation, just throw yourself on their mercy. Remember that elders are human so make sure they get the full story. Forget about the Holy Spirit, this is a trial by men .
Rehearse some phrases to use and speak out . A friend of mine was so nervous she clammed up and the elders mistook that for belligerence.
With the new emphasis on mercy and your newness, you should be ok. Best of luck.....

I cannot believe this site . If it were true it would be a major scandal.
No congregation elder gets paid. It is a labour of love . As for Bethel elders and high ups , the principle has always been that they all get a basic income. That used to be $14 a month but must have increased now.
Of course if you costed up all the benefits in kind they receive in terms of board and lodging, it would equal a salary…….

Visible Tattoos and body piercing are not the done thing among Witnesses but are not exactly forbidden. It would no doubt prevent you progressing with privileges but not thrown out.
Until we see tv newscasters and politicians with them , I don’t think it will change.

Special talk/Memorial (Trigger warning maybe?!?)

I just zoomed in to a memorial. (UK) . It was the most disappointing one I have ever heard . He spoke almost entirely about the paradise earth future compared to the world today and his examples of “blessings “ were large houses, hot tubs and sailing boats ! All very materialistic.
In contrast I caught a thing on tv earlier where this church lady, rehearsing for a passion play was full of the incomparable love of the Christ and the peace that it brings.
Who is the more “spiritual “?

The pendulum has swung this way and that over the years in the treatment of the d/fd .
I well remember those WT articles that said it would be wrong to leave one stranded if their car broke down. Some oldies of my acquaintance still hold that view despite the WT going more hard line. In recent years attitudes toughened towards them , now we ares seeing a softening of the line. Mind you, that 3 month reinstatement is a bit of a joke . Out after Christmas but back for the memorial!

Will recent dress-code changes affect the WTS negatively?
by Wonderment inin a span of a few months time, we have had many unexpected changes announced by the jw organization.
some here have expressed the belief that a great number of witnesses will leave the religion.
in fact, there is a great probability the opposite will be true.. yeah, ancient hardliners will have a hard time assimilating these changes, but the younger generation will likely welcome these changes.

Depends who you are. Younger ones might like it but the older experienced dubs in my circle are horrified. They call it slovenly and disrespectful. Also they have little regard for the current bunch of GB members and speak fondly of the time when Knorr and Franz ran the show .
Maybe that says it all. The GB are desperate to keep the younger members and they know that the oldies won’t go anywhere. They just stay home, write a letter so they can report , watch zoom and grumble.

New light isn't that new outside the USA?
by KerryKing inall this recent new light etc has everyone talking but none of it is that unusual here in ireland.
i've been df'd for 15 years, my parents started talking to me again when i had my first child nearly 13 years ago now.
last year my sister in law started talking to me again also, at the one meeting i attended last year quite a few people chatted to me and said hello.. i'm just wondering if all this is only a big deal in the usa or is this neck of the woods just particularly rebellious anyway?

I note what the o/p says about things in Ireland . I can believe that because there are definitely regional differences. I have long noticed that things here in the UK are not so hard nosed as many have reported from the USA.
