  Good news and bad news --- pandemic and Kingdom Halls.

  good news bad news pandemic and kingdom halls.. first the bad news, coming out of israel - one of the first countries to push total vaccination.

  the news is the vaccine especially the pfizer one looks like it wears off and hospital rates have gone up for those that have been vaccinated.

  They are not really missing meetings.... they are doing them virtually via zoom. I sit along , with camera turned off , some Sundays and even the oldies are now adept at using it. They mainly sit , smartly dressed, in range and are a dab hand at the mute/unmute thing.

  Nevertheless it’s a poor substitute for the KHall routine, we shall see what affect it has on them. The poor dears so much miss “the Ministry “ ( I don’t think)

  As for vaccines , the U.K. has announced a booster shot for the elderly and vulnerable. I shall be first in the queue.

  four horsemen ...and an apocalypse.

  the bar sign on top of the ramshackle building reads: “the four horsemen”.. my best friend bob yells for me to hear him once we stepped inside the door.. “...hangout spot... motorcycle ‘club... the punishers...” that’s all i could hear because of the loud music.. jukebox music pounded my head.

  the click-clack of the pool tables, outbursts of laughter, and loud voices filled my ears till they rang.. eventually, i learned that the punishers are a brotherhood of law enforcement officers, court officials, correctional officers; and like-minded individuals.. did the strange critters in this bar look like anything but worrisome outlaws?

  Of course Splane did not say anything about Delroy Grant. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

  However it appears true that he associated with the congregation, some may have considered him a brother ( that is what some think of me because I was often there with my wife pre Covid , and that would be a mistake too) .

  Whether the drama will bring this out I don’t know , it didn’t play a part in his capture as far as I know..

  when i was a kid we had a kh with a basement and this guy joe winestien lived in it.

  he has passed away i believe.

  he was about 24 and used to hang around the young boys.

  What is “ obvious “? You can never tell unless proven

  Reminds me of a young sister who was , well, masculine. She always wore men’s shoes and stuff and just seemed mannish. I even heard other young sisters giggling that when looking at a clothes catalogue she liked all the men’s wear.

  What happened ? She moved away, came back to visit and brought a husband, he was definitely male....

  this tree is named after a general, because the us called in the army to protect these oldtimers; now wrapped in a fire proof blanket.

  (it has already a 4 feet fireproof bark).

  when will canada do the same, on it's west coast and brazil in the amazon?

  The thick bark on these trees has enabled them to survive countless fires in the past. I read somewhere that the extreme heat of these fires was unprecedented and made a danger to them.

  I am no climate activist but I must agree that so many bad things happening makes me worry about the climate.

  just an observation viewing some of their on camera appearances , and their arrogance believing they are the only one`s used by god to reach and teach the people ,despite what gj said at the arc on the subject.. no doubt the gb men wear designer tailor made suits from the best tailors in nys ?

  and their wives adequately provided for in a similar way ?

  nothing from kmart or target ,walmart or whatever.. shoes are probably made from form fit cobblers to fit the individual ?

  1995 generation change

  now, many years later, i remember the 1995 generation change, very well.. since early youth, hearing my father explaining in field service the 2520 years.

  it was his main theme in the field.. with the change my doubts started.

  with some jw friends we did not trust the organization anymore.

  I have not followed all the above doctrinal discussion, but the mid nineties generation change was a massive change in thinking. I did not lose faith immediately but,looking back , it was the start of my independent thinking. I left before year 2000.

  joined about the same time back in 2001 as minimus- we never agreed on very much at all, i was pro jw, and like most here, he was not.

  his constant questions would somewhat annoy me, yet they were always here every time i remembered to check back on this site, there he was.. he was a constant.

  an irritatingly constant.. what a loss tho.. wherever you are minimus, i wish you love and rest.. scooby..
