The GB as JW celebrities
by Rubyvixen ini am really,really curious as to how other people back while in the org viewed the gb.
because my oldest brother (older than me by 14 years!
) was first at the watchtower farms and then brooklyn bethel and my uncle is a member of the gb, my mother tended to flaunt these facts and look for every opportunity to go to either place with her bible studies (these terms are so weird to use after all these years lol).

What Happened to 2034?
by NotFormer insome years ago the wt started putting it out there that noah took 120 years to build the ark, and since the wt was the new ark, it may allow them up to 2034 (1914 + 120) before armageddon.
it could have been their new 1975 to get excited about, but i don't see any mention of it at all now.
what happened during the two decades since last i observed anything about the wt?.

2034?....That was a nothing. It is only what some people, outside of the Org. as far as I know, tried to read into it. TheWatchtower never said it.

Those comments about elders chasing reports are so typical. My wife only ever gets a call or a text when they want a report..... never just to see that she is ok.
I am glad the AGM will become public knowledge quickly. I can then assess what they actually said and discuss it at home.

This Generation/ 1975
by TxNVSue2023 ini was born in 1977 & came in as a convert in 2003 --- so i have no idea what went on before my time.. however i have been familiar with the scriptures of "nobody knows the day or hour" & " it will come as a theif in the night" meaning that it was sure but unpredictable time.
how could anyone belive that anyone else ( organization or not) put a date on it?.
also what was the significance of 1975 anyway?

I have not seen the video. The following is extracts from the article on the AvoidJW site , which reads like someone’s detailed notes . Therefore I cannot vouch 100% for it’s accuracy but it seems o k and I accord with other reports.

What a sea change from the past when it was All about your report . I can remember the big chart at the front of the hall that showed the publishers and hours and a ten hour quota per month. Woe betide you if you failed to make it !

I cannot see that Data Protection has anything to do with a dub’s time in the Ministry.. I can only think that it is just not as important any more……. I am sure that less time will be spent.
