I well remember this book and what a big deal it was at the time. It seemed that we had a God given duty to expose old Babylon for what she was …. Much of it was based on a book by a Rev. J Hislop, “ TheTwo Babylons” . It seems that F Franz took his ideas and ran with them further.
I just checked the online indexes and it seems that the last reference to the Fall of B the G was in 1988. So it seems to be quietly have been allowed to slip under the radar although not actually denied…

I went through it quickly, picking out the convention clips . No offence to Mike and Kim,, I respect the work they do, but I find their style just too much to take. I would rather see what they have from the convention and make up my own mind.
I found nothing remarkable in the programme. Why do they pick the most boring speakers for this stream? The only exception was the baptism talk .. that guy was animated and different to the rest .

He was not daft. He was brilliant but also strange, bizarre. He had a gi- normous ego and truly a “one- off” . There was never another like him.

I would not go so far as to say that, I never liked him much , very businesslike and the changes he made ruined our cong. … I would agree with your assessment of his wife , Dodie. The sisters used to call her ‘ The Terminator’ because so many studies were stopped after taking her along.
i have a question regarding the current blood card- did the blood card always have a spot where the jw gives the elders the authority to pull the plug (so to speak) and to admit them to a long term facility?
as well as no blood, naturally.
if the elders have no financial responsibility how is this possible?

my guess is most jws know it’s not true on a subconscious level to an extent but they don’t want to think about it too much and would never ever voice it out loud.. but this is probably true with all religions around the world?.
They don’t dare to think to hard ….. that is what got us on here , and they know that.
They just pray for more faith, leave “it all up to Jehovah “ and go with the flow….

although we expect jehovah's witnesses to use this opportunity to say "we were right all this time", it's nonetheless a historic blow to the nhs.
This is really a two edged sword for JWs .
1) On the one hand it does support what we were told by WT , at the time that diseases such as AIDS and Hepatitis C can and were contracted from blood products.
2) On the other hand it shows that the blood fractions ,which they nowadays allow and seem to almost encourage, are just as liable to carry a disease, if one should be in it. . The haemophiliacs taking factor 8 were just as badly affected as anyone having a transfusion.
That fact seems lost on the JWs I know, who are too busy saying “ We told you so !”
They don’t want to know either…..
