  well i made publisher a couple of weeks ago.

  i shared that story on here.

  but now iam getting pressured into being baptized in september.

  Thank you very much for all your answers. Some hit home very hard for me. Its true, Iam very much in love and whipped pretty good. But I dont want to turn around and have no relationship and no religion. I have no idea about a lot of my religious beliefs, but I know what my beliefs are about her.

  It comes down to this: If I knew I could find someone this pure in my life again, it would probably be easy to walk away. But I dont know if it will ever happen again. Sometimes you only get one shot at the gold and if you miss, you will have to settle.

  This maybe my gold?

  Well i made publisher a couple of weeks ago. I shared that story on here. But now Iam getting pressured into being baptized in September. I guess if I miss the Sept date, there will not be another convention till March or May. So Iam having the full court press put on me.

  Ive shared about 75% of my concerns with her and she doesnt understand why that is holding me back. All people have doubts but we have to place our trust in God. Its not God that I dont have trust in.

  But Iam afraid I will cave in just like Ive done before.

  What really bothers me about my JW research.

  some of you may know, but i have been on a serious journey through watchtower "theology", and by association, have gone back all through the history of christianity.

  i know many on this list have gone thru the same thing.

  i have checked out probably 100 archeological, religious, and history books from the library.

  where did you get the information about the people dying from refusing transplants?

  Where does it state (watchtower, awake, etc) that transplants were a disfellowshipping offense in the 50s 60s?

  What books had the most info that countered whatever false teaching you were looking for?

  ive got to go this weekend to keep the peace with my gf.

  this despite my entire family going to south florida for a 5 day vacation with my sis, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Guess when there vacation falls? on the same f***ing weekend as the assembly. I would like to have some things to look for. Any interesting quotes? Any doctrinal backtracks, etc.

  I understand what you are going through. My gf is a dedicated JW. Iam being fashioned into exactly what she wants. A unquestioning loyalist to JW authority. Iam not sure what to do either.

  I just want to thank everyone for their heartfelt advice and sharing their knowledge.

  I went to the meeting last night. I talked to the 2 men and the people Iam studying with. And I became an unbaptized publisher. They did talk about going door to door....and I said I was unsure about that. They said it would come in time. There is no minimum hours, feel free to go anytime. Just set a small goal and work toward it. Maybe join the school later.

  After this, I went and ate with my girlfriend and her family at OCharleys. I havent seen her this happy in a long time.

  I dont know where this will lead. Ive read COC by Franz. There are parts of this organization that I do not care for. There are rules that I do not wholeheartedly agree with. But Iam hoping the good out weighs the bad. This may be naive on my part. But I will see what happens.

  I will never stop learning or reading this board. Everyone should hear the good and bad of whatever they are going into. You must listen and answer your critics if you are to improve. Thanks again for all the support and info.

  Sorry, the meeting is Thursday night.

  Some things came to a head a bit last night. I told her she was the number one priority in my life. Not God, not religion. She became quite disturbed and said my priorities were wrong. I told her I could not change the way I felt. She would always be the most important thing to me.

  So Ive caved in and agreed to the meeting. After I will have to go out in field service once before they announce that iam a unbaptized publisher. I felt like complete s**t last night. But I am afraid of losing her.

  I also like her qualities. This religion does have a positive effect on this girl. She is honest, dependable, and very loving. Unlike most girls in their 20s, she has her head on very straight.

  Iam just afraid I will not measure up to what she wants in a JW mate.

  But thank all you for your posts and suggestions.
