well, its been a while since i was made a unbaptized publisher.
now my hand is going to be forced and i will have to be baptized by the end of the year.
my gf wants my decision very soon, like the next couple of days.
we have been together for over 2 yrs and Ive been studying for about 1.5 yrs.
I was slightly raised in the truth by my aunt. I then went to military and college from the 18yrs old till 27. Never went to a single meeting during that span.
Moved back to town, introduced to this girl. Now this is where Iam at.

the consensus here seems to tell me to run. it would be very difficult destroying something youve built. Many happy times, wonderful memories. I understand people's hurt and anguish on this board.
there is things I dont like about the organization. Things Iam not sure how they make arbitrary rules about (birthdays, beards).
But I guess its my decision in the end.

Sometimes I feel ready...but I know I will never be 100% positive. How can you be?

Well, Iam going through a situation where Iam the worldly and my girl is in the religion.
Since I cant comment on your love or your relationship I will only tell you what I would have done differently.
Have a frank, open conversation about all the things required of you to progress with your relationship (discuss marriage even if your not ready for it). There are many rules such as having a chaporone to go see a movie or go to the store. Some of these rules were not TOTALLY laid out before me when I started my relationship. Get very clear answers on how this will involve you and your unbelieving family. Please tread lightly and get all the answers you can before you proceed. Never skip a question because you think its no a big deal. JW have a way of making everything a big deal.

As you all know, there are sacrifices to be made whenever you are deeply involved with another person. I feel a little backed into a corner. I will definitely lose her if I dont get baptized. I wont if I do.
Ive had bad and good experiences with the JW religion before. Some in my family are still in but most are out.
I do know want anybody telling me what my family and children can/cant do. If God reads hearts, then he will know who are pure and who are not. I dont want a group telling my children they cant play little league when only God knows what is in a persons heart.
Well, I guess I have a lot to think about in the next couple of weeks.
BTW: Ive read CoC by Franz. i would like to read more books. I want to go into everything with my eyes wide open.
