Bit off topic, but Danny Hazards picture is kinda funny. Barber may have lost some marbles, but he still has an eye for the ladies........

Yesterday's Tower
by 5thGeneration insome funny comments.. 1.
"an elder and his wife who have raised three children report: 'from an early age, our children were involved in choosing where we would go on vacation... certain milestones in our children's lives were recognized...'" ???.
"at a time that does not interfere with spiritual activities, a few families may decide to enjoy a picnic together or play a game that is not overly competitive.

How did you cope?
by Zico inwhen you found out that this religion probably wasn't the one true religion like you had believed probably for a large portion of your life, or maybe even all of it, how did you react?
my whole life belongs to the society.
all my friends are witnesses, my family are witnesses, even my job is dedicated to the society.

Hi again,
Just another thought. The WTS would like you to think that if you leave the organization, your life will take a trip down the crapper. That anything you will do will not succeed, because as they see it Jehovah is not involved in your life, as when you leave the org, you leave him.
Sure things happen that are not great, things can cause you stress, but our reply to JW's when they see us and ask how we are doing is this " Life is GOOD, infact it has never been BETTER!!" and that my friend is "The TRUTH". -

Must've been a huge exercise to get the whole FDS together to be able to have their approval for such an announcement on their behalf. Would've cost a huge amount to do that.
Yes these greeting are crap.
We had a top gun elder bring us the love of XXXXX congregation. a friend happened to know someone there and said it was nice of them to send thier love via BroXXXXXX, he said who? never even saw him at any of our meetings!!!!! -

questions to ask your BIBLE STUDY CONDUCTOR

i would appreciate comments and suggestions on things i can add or subtract.. .
baptism as one of jehovahs witnesses is a significant step as it is a life time commitment to the watchtower society.

Hey jwfacts...an interesting bunch of questions. You have put a lot of thought into it. Must get onto your site and download them from there.
Anything about the so called Governing Body? Even though the term isn't in the Bible? In your section on History, something could be slotted in there, as the FDS always has existed, so logically so too the GB. Who were they before Russell?
It is a great list. I'd love to get called on when I am away on vacation, and have some fun with the listed questions!!!! ;-)) -

God led me to the JW congregation.
by jw ini rented a house in the late !970's and the contents in the home were given to me.. it happened to be books: ( making my life happy, revelation, children bible stories, listening to the great teacher ) i was enjoying the reading.. -----------------------------------.
a few years later began to notice awake magazines in doctor offices, and other public places and read them and enjoyed them.. ------------------------------------.
late 1980's my 7th son was 2 yrs.

Did you ever think that maybe your son was talking to an actual person? Just because you lock the doors doesn't mean people stay out of your house. Perhaps a previous tenant who still held a key?
Your description of the bible book is a bit cryptic too. Was it a bible that you are talking about or another book?
If you are happy that's one thing, but looking for signs from God is another. Lots of people on this forum felt that god led them into the dubs, but later find out that he led them out... -

What you are saying is all true. It is not easy to walk away. But once you have the right reasons in your head, how can you stay in it? We were appalled at the pedophile issue. I didn't believe that could happen and they could actually still be part of the congregation of "Jehovah". Yet there they are. Some manage to stay in. Victims end up out. The societies policies DO hurt people, and they take no responsibility for it. Wont even change they way they handle it.
If they can be wrong about that, what else can they be wrong about? So we started reading. and reading, all the books we could lay our hands on by all the great apostates.
Once you unravel the BS there is no going back.
So, now you have life to live. Make plans for the future. Secure your retirement, set LONG TERM goals for yourself, and ENJOY every day that you are away from the WT. Trust me life is never better, sure there continue to be hardships with constant reminders of not ever fully being free of it, as in our case every one of our relatives are still in, but if your concentrate on looking forward its such a relief to be out, to develop your own identity, not one of the clone varieties they teach you to be, the way you can look at everything differently, how beautiful every Sunday morning can be sitting outside in the sun eating bacon & eggs for breakfast with your kids. Don,t waste anymore of your life in a fake organisation, for us 40 plus years was way to long.
It is time to stop living a life ruled by guilt and fear. -

My wife was asked once when witnessing " Why do you take the number 144000 as literal when the rest of the book of Revelation is figurative?"
She didn't have an answer. Never thought of it before....ever. Dumb reasoning like it only mentions one lamb....lame is more like it.
Good luck with your search, hope that you can reason on what has been presented thus far. I have enjoyed your topic and the replies.
Have you used e-sword? Bible research software mostly free. -

New Invitations for the "Deliverance at Hand" DC
by dorayakii in.
the front of this new watchtower-sized invitation features a common painting of the jw paradise and the theme of his years distirct convention, "deliverance at hand" emblazened across the front.
it looks like they're trying to work up armageddon fervour again.. .

What is missing out of the picture is the "warlocks", but then they only tend to come out at night dont they!???
Perhaps they spring from the decendants of T Jaracz and his clones after they mated each other over a couple of generations? -

Would the dubs who "actually" read thier new rule book realize that the announcement is the same for DA and DF and that this bland statement implies exactly the same weight and response as the old DF announcement?
That is those who read the book?
jwfacts......confusion rules. They must wonder how you did that? -

Could it be as Jesus described " A blind mand leading a blind man?" And they both end up falling into the pit?
So how old was he? 86?
What a sad waste.
