Thanks for the great site reexaminer! I've already been in it and I can see how impressive it's going to be! Got my fix of the materials there - I would scan or send what I have but a rather unfortunate chain of events left all of my bibles/books and other resource materials in the grip of a fanatical JW who kidnapped them and has them under lock and key. The ransom is reinstatement and that's not about to happen so I consider them lost forever. Thanks for all your hard work, your time and energy - we appreciate it!

My website: www.reexamine.org
by reexaminer ingreetings.. i have started a project that i hope will stay online for times indefinate, even to times indefinate.
you can find it at www.reexamine.org .. i started working on it in october and it is still a work in progress, however because of the shut down of the website located at http://quotes.watchtower.ca i felt that i should release the site in "as-is" condition, instead of waiting until it was completely finished.. currently, there isn't a lot of content in the 'wiki' section of the website.
hopefully in the next few days and weeks that will change, however there are still programming issues that i have to work out before that can happen.

I greatly appreciate getting this information. It makes me appreciate where I'm at today but also keeps me up to date in whats going on inside - and this is a good thing for shock value when corresponding with fanatical family. Would love to read the BOE letters.

Watchtower Trial Fund-raiser Corporation
by sammielee24 injust googling the watchtower and i came across the watchtower trial fund raiser corp. it mentions a book called 'game over' and is actually quite interesting.
this subject brings to mind the possibility of a law suit re the blood issue and where it might lead.
does anyone know what happened to this book and if the wtbs did sue the authors?

thanks zagor..that is the site that I just read and it is indeed interesting. I'm wondering what the outcome was or if anything at all happened with it. The authors seemed to anticipate a lawsuit from the WTBS but what really happened?

Help!!! About distributing press releases
by blindersoff inas i started to get into the nuts & bolts of emailing the press release about quotes to my local newspaper, i wound up wondering who to send it to.
should it go to the editor, publisher, janitor?.
should we 'take out a territory'?

Just read your link willyloman and I understand...there is some confusion about what should be done and when and how. If someone is organized and working on it perhaps it would be a good idea if someone posted a subject thread to that effect. This would allow us all to act as a team and get the job done and remain updated where it all stands as well. I think people want to help but aren't sure who has done what and how and wether or not they should interfere in the actions already in progress. I realize that there are confidential reasons for some information to remain quiet but there must be a way that we can inform and keep informed without divulging every move made.

Let's get organized
by wombat ini've made a couple of posts just now on other threads,,,,,,and i'm off to bed.. 2.15 am and a bad day.. look......whoever is running this place, you don't need thousands of idiots like me phoning and emailing the media.
they love a good story but will be totally confused if they get dozens of disjointed stories.. get organized.....all you need is email addresses.
you have the professionals to write the press releases.. we are just amateurs and will embarrass you if we attempt to do the same.. please set up a site where we can submit email addresses of the proper people that press releases should be sent to.. a simple phone call will give any of us posters the email address of the editor or religious writer of any newspaper.. if we all did that and sent it to a central source, this site could immediately release explosive material world-wide overnight.. please..........just get the email addresses and leave it to the professionals on this site to spread the news.

Perhaps someone could post a 'little' direction on here so we are all on the same wavelength and moving in the same direction...

Blood Card - Why Bother??
by sammielee24 injust finished reading the big news essay....gotta read it again because i'm so ticked off i probably missed a few points.
the bottom line that i get from this is that a witness can take blood and it is totally a conscious matter and has been for years!!!
no matter how you cut it, if you can take particles a/b/c/d/e/f/ from blood you might as well take the whole thing.

Are the blood card and Watchtower different in the UK and the US? Oct 15/2000 Watchtower says that blood can be withdrawn in order to tag or mix it, prior to a surgery, whereupon it's put back into the patient. This is storing and then transfusing your own blood. June 15/2000, pg 30, says that blood plasma can be a source of various fractions, the other primary components (red cells, white cells, platelets) can be processed into smaller parts....should a Christian accept such fractions in medical treatment? ...A Christian must make their own decision before God. I've re-read the whole essay and there is so much gobbledy-gook that the wtbts has written, so much information that changes and it's so ridiculously broken down it's simply too confusing.
To me it's pretty simple. They are either saying yes you can or no you can't. Anything else is misleading and politized. A fraction of blood came from blood. If they are saying you can take fractions and it is a matter of conscious without reproof if you do - then one would be silly to sign the blood card if what was holding them back from a possible transfusion is watchtower direction and/or fear of punishment. What is the point then of the HLC exactly? Having been in the hospital before myself and had visits from clergy (and I am not baptized anything), if the HLC were simply going on visits to the sick and elderly to provide support of some sort for them then that's not a problem. It appears that their relationship is only to 'protect' the sick JW from taking blood and taking over their treatment via PA/Authorization of Access. If the answer is no, then they need to simply say no and forget all the double talk or new light junk and state categorically that this is what they believe according to their interruption of the bible. sammieswife.

We're having tourtière for supper, with some vegetables and potatoes.... the traditional French-Canadian Christmas Eve dinner.
That got me thinking about Christmas when I was a kid - and all the traditions that we had. (Canadian -both French/English). Very familiar with the tourtiere..but every Christmas morning my mother served up massive slices of salmon pie - extra thick pastry just stuffed with potatoes, salmon and carrots. I've never had that pie so good as when she made it every year without fail as long as she could. We weren't wealthy folk and didn't have a fireplace to hang stockings from but we would leave one out on the stair rail and the next morning we would wake up to find it all filled up with goodies and laying on the foot of our bed. Lots of family visiting all day, smell of ham and turkey, mashed potatoes, my uncles rum soaked Christmas cake and at the end of the day out came the guitars, banjos, spoons and harmonicas and there was music until the wee hours of the morning. Some beautiful memories.
What traditions did you have? Have you started new ones? sammieswife
