sorry to be blunt - but I just finished listening to the interview with Bill Bowen and Dogpatch and IMO anyone who believes that the Society is without deceit, lies, corruption, fear-mongering and pscyhological battering is only shaming himself. The organizations 'credible' witness to rape of a child (or anyone) means that all those not baptized as JW's are exempt from any sort of belief or justice...so to say it like it is - if that JW Elder of mine rapes my kid and I take it to the Elders it's tsk..tsk..tsk..slap on the wrist and pray more....so now he goes home and rapes my kid again and again and again...until he rapes the little 3 year old next door - but wait - they're witnesses and a 3 year old can talk much can they? ...tsk ..tsk..tsk..slap on the wrist again...but wait..now he's purportedly raped another kid who isn't even a witness - awww..who cares about that kid - she ain't even a Witness....tsk tsk tsk...anyone that supports an organization that cares so little about all the children in the world regardless of their affiliation with the society....puts their own morals and ethics in the same laundry basket. Sorry..you might think they are teaching your child better morals and values but be realistic - you haven't been in the real world, you obviously haven't done the research on the origins of the organization - condoned adultery, approved holidays, using the cross, drinking, smoking, fraud - thats what the society was based on and if they had the truth back then, ask yourself how the man who was Gods mouthpiece is ignored now and all of his teachings because the bible and God haven't changed - just the leadership of the publishing company called the Watchtower. Oh yes, and by the way - either join or leave..but make a stand - not excuses. My apologies if anyone thinks this is too harsh but my reading this story came right after listening to that interview and I'm a little incensed....sammieswife.

A bit reluctant
by saki2fifty ini'm a bit reluctant in writing this post, for i dont feel i should be here.
even a bit nervous... .
i've never officially dedicated myself to jehovah, but i was brought up in the truth, very strong, and at times when getting older, there were lulls in my attendance... yet to this day i still attend.

hugs Lily...I know the pain of that loss. I had to have my girl put down when she was 18 and it had gotten to the point where I was spoon feeding her baby food and squeezing drops of water into her mouth. Her kidneys shut down on her. At the same time I had a diabetic dog who was my treasure and despite my doing everything humanly possible for her she went blind and I ended up losing her 2 years ago when she was 10 years old. I still miss her and I have her picture on my desk. Big hug......sammieswife.

The public education system for its balanced teaching of geography -in Canada you learn about rest of the world including the USA. We had to learn about and memorize the States and all the capitals etc, but when asked, 9/10 of my friends in the USA do not know where Ontario is located; and history - out of the same number of people from the USA, not one knew that the USA lost the War of 1812 to Canada. In fact, most didn't even know that the USA had engaged in War and lost in 1812! sammieswife.

how does that work?
In the USA people have the right to bear arms (I believe its called) and have the right to have a gun in their possession - the home, and I suppose their car or on their person in some places. Canadians don't have that right so most people unless they are hunters or collectors don't have firearms in their houses. sammieswife.

Yeah..but you can't get Coronation Street in the USA. It's shown regularly in Canada but not so in the US - the further south you go its more unlikely you will find Canadian news stations. Thats a bummer - along with not getting the CBC. sammieswife.
