well, the elders were supposed to have met on monday, april 18 to decide if they would disfellowship me for adultery.
there is no question of my guilt.

This really is an interesting situation. Where did you hear that they cannot take any action against you because you have been inactive for 10 years? I've never heard of that.

i hope this has not been a topic lately.... it was christmas day...and i had went to visit some non-jw relatives i was 15 yrs old...and a group of other kids from the neighborhood had all got together on the block, it was snowing and the snow was so fluffy and pretty, so we all started walking down the street singing x-mas songs (we had sipped some spiked egg nog) everyone exchanged little gifts.
we went to different houses visiting and eating.
toward the end of the night we went to my sister's friend house and danced till around 2:00 in the morning..." for the first time in my life i felt free and happy.
My favorite memory is my nan bringing me as a present a crayola crayon set one week after Christmas when I was 5 years old. I love my nan so much.

i know it is an odd question and maybe i am not phrasing it right but i felt with their cult of confession (not just to the elders) but with everybody knowing each other's business it could be a danger.
for example: let's say you were a person who kept a lot of money hidden in your house and you made the mistake of telling one of these wonderful friends - what guarantee did you have that they wouldn't blab it to the wrong person and you could get robbed or something?
i always felt with them that i shouldn't let the right hand know what the left was doing.

i am reading crisis of conscience and am wondering what goes through people's minds when they read it, i am on about page 115. i find it slow reading because of the way it is written.
even though i have been out of the org for going on 20 years, i am a little shocked at some of the stuff i'm reading and i feel like it shouldn't shock me.
i remember when i was a jw, how the governing body was put on a pedestal; everyone assumes they spend all their time studying and praying over matters from a scriptural standpoint.
:If you were a JW and received one in your hands, unexpectedly...what do you think you would do????
I would look around to see if any dubs were watching and, if not, take it into my house and read it. But I was never a regular dub.
Most will freak out, try to burn it, realize it won't burn because it is empowered with demon ethereal powers, then throw it in the trash FAR AWAY from the house.

I found that the congregations were so gossipy that I was becoming more and more secretive about virtually everything in my life.
